Dang bro, thats no good. How bad is the bike? Let me know if you need any help getting it back on the road.
thanks. the sv isn't very bad at all. it was a low-speed mishap. signals, headlight, rearset/shifter, radiator all need to be replaced. gonna be a challenge to find the wrench time. I hope to be back on the road sometime soon.

can't do it. i became another victim of the Hills this past sunday on rt. 374. I'm okay, but the bike needs some work.

I've always wanted to ride down to RW&B. No way in hell I'll drive though. If there's a group going, I'd like to do it.

welcome. sick bike.

I used a dremel on my two bros. Be sure to take your time. I lightly sanded it and painted it flat black.

+1 felt gooood to get out and ride! Great ride plus a spirited lecture on motorcycle safety. Couldn't ask for more!

Where did you guys get the tail light kit for the Sv. or did you wire the lights your self? I think i could do it with that trailer light kit for cars with amber lighting or a diode on each wire? At least I think i could?
i have a clear alternatives tail light on my SV. integrates red stop and amber turns.

Reynoldsburg isn't country. Its suburban hell that is going down the tubes quick.
With the exception of a few pockets, In Columbus, you are best off to live as far outside the city as you can afford to/are willing to, due to the fact that the suburbs are on the decline as everyone keeps moving farther out into the country to escape the urban blight that also keeps moving outward from the epicenter (downtown) like a slow moving wave.
The only places inside 270 to escape this are Grandview/Upper Arlington/NW side, and German Village:supergay:
Around 270, you are best to stick with gahanna, most of westerville or the NW side of town.
Unless you're rich, Then its New Albany all day.
I'm so I'm headin for the hills.
There are some areas in New Albany that are affordable and not ultra affluent like the majority of NA. NA offers a great mix of country/suburb.

Anyway, I know you are probably attempting to save $$$$ with the new family and all but buying a "newer" car with a warranty with probably be your best bet....especially if you're looking for a high end car. That's the problem with lots of people. They buy the expensive cars for the status but really don't have the $$$ for upkeep. Luxury cars are not cheap...hence the term luxury!!!
Go for the safety ratings!!! Hope some of this helped.
well...I am not going to buy a brand new or "newer" car because cars depreciate very rapidly. We are going to pay cash because a car loan is bad debt IMO. So, my ability to afford upkeep isn't an issue. As far as 'status', there are other aspects of my life that speak for themselves. I don't need constant endorsement from whatever car i choose to drive. If i could, i would continue to drive my rock-solid, 9 year old Wrangler. But a noisy ride and lack of A/C aren't ideal for a baby.
The particular rover i wanted had low miles (~10k/year) and complete service records. With proper maintenance (which i do myself whenever possible), a modern car SHOULD last a very long time. From what I've read here and other boards, that is not the case with rovers, so I probably won't get one.
Most SUVs look too much like lifted cars. I value the "utility" aspect of SUVs. I want big and boxy with some off-road capabilities. I think I'm going to give the Jeep Commander a closer look. Thanks to you all for your input.
