  5. There's no such thing as a "shit hole" in the Air Force. UAE or Dubai is probably a shit hole to them I will give some credit to the Tactical Air Controllers (TACP), they helped us out a bit with illumination at night and spotting a few hot spots. Cool guys, I think they had fun shooting shit up with us.
  6. Chair Force basic is like boy scout summer camp. It's a routine, you'll get used to it come week 2, then it'll tend to get a little easier on you. Like every military basic training, they'll break you down, just to build you back up. Key is to stay low, don't stand out, do just the minimum and you'll be fine. You just get un-wanted attention for being first and being last, so fall into the middle. Out of sight, out of mind works.
  7. Me thinks, that I won't be walking straight.
  8. I'm good for drinking. Count me in.
  9. Hal said what I just did. Swear we are related..........
  10. How many AR15's or M4/M16 style weapons have you shot before? Really it kind of depends on what kind of shooting you're really getting into. Do you want something with magnification? Do you want to hit Mr.Coyote @ 200+ yards? Would you like a reflexive fixed (aka no magnification) style sight? I think for your first black rifle, understand the nature of iron sights. If it works for our military, it'll do more than work for you. http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/library/policy/army/fm/3-22-9/index.html http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/2/2b/M16_rifle_correct_sight_picture_fig_4-18.png/800px-M16_rifle_correct_sight_picture_fig_4-18.png Don't get me wrong, all these high speed AR accessories are great and do their function, but for just going to go and fire off some rounds, there's really no need. I have a few M&P15A flat tops with flip up sights and love em.
  11. I love domestic dogs just as much as any other animal lover, but I've killed me a good number of feral dogs in Iraq. That firefighter went a bit far in what he did. PS- .50 API ammo + Dog = quick death
  12. I just found it, but researching on what ranch or lease it's on.

  17. This thread made my day. I've been dying to get out west into Wyoming and the Dakota areas to do some mountain ram, and elk hunting.
  18. AMC's are only allowed an AMC power plant. http://www.indyheads.com/ <--- Build some nasty AMC motors.
  19. 161 area wouldn't be a bad choice either. Tell em you're hunting potential Somalian Pirates. http://www.appletreeblog.com/wp-content/2008/09/somali-pirate.jpg Tell him to invest in a good spoting scope, and a range book. If he doesn't have any experience in long distance calling, he might need to get some read on. Army FM23-10 covers "sniper training" http://www.biggerhammer.net/manuals/23-10/toc.htm
  20. You know you have to click on it to work right?
  21. There's plenty of glass pieces around to throw on the vega/pinto/spirit chasis. They aren't as porky as you'd expect. It's a safe bet to say atleast 2,500+lbs on either car, but you also have a large rear axle to deal with. IMO worth the weight not to snap it like half shafts or CV axles. But it is hard to argue with a colt w/4G63 power to weight ratio.
