Sweet man, I travel 315 daily, multiple times somedays. my cell is 614-595-5536, just give me a ring whenever, I'll be riding on and off tomorrow during the day, and then I'm free around 6pm and will be meeting up with some friends. Ben said people are meeting at fitzgeralds on bethel so we're starting around campus and making our way up north to stop by there. hope to see you out there.
-
Looks like a good crowd. I won't be able to make this until after the 1st week of June, school owns me until then but I look forward to hanging out all summer with you guys.
-
Ben...you're talking about Tuesday night right? If so I'll drop by with a few friends, we were planning on riding around 7 as well. I live just down sawmill... Donnie, call me if you don't hear from me by 7, 614-595-5536, we'll be starting around campus about 7pm as well, you guys should head north and pick up us and we can all cruise up to fitzgerald's and meet the others, sounds like a good ride to me. I will try the freeway, but I just started riding this weekend so I'd like to stay on streets as well.
-
Sweet, finally a night I can make!! You planning on being there? I'd love to show up and be able to meet some of you guys, 7ish?
-
Definitely will hit you up Kevin, not positive what time though. And bill, I've seen some idiots while out riding/driving as well. The one that takes the cake was a few days ago on 315n, I was on 315n in my car doing 75ish in the middle lane, minding my own business, some douche on a crotchrocket flies by me, changes 3 lanes over to the right, and slams on the brakes while cutting somone off to make the bethel exit. While passing him I note the uber cool sandles, abercrombie shorts, tight hollister muscle shirt, and the dope aviator shades...His bike wasn't holding a helmet so I guess he was just too cheap to buy one, or a jacket/gloves/boots for that matter.....dumbass.
-
Yeah definitely man, I think I posted in your other thread that me and antoher guy and possible others are planning on riding tomorrow around 7pm for sure. I'm planning on bringing my bike home tomorrow from the plant, just gotta pick up my cover first. Where is old 315? Is that just north of where the hwy ends? Call me tomorrow sometime so we can plan something, I don't care about who's faster, I know my nuts are bigger anyways, lol, it was just a question. But I agree, I just like being out there, its an awesome feeling.

goddamn dude, 150 miles since yesterday at 1pm or so? Fuck me and call me susie! I'll be honest dude, I don't think I've had my bike over 6k, maybe not even 5500rpms, lol. The quick bursts from like 3-5k and like 40-60ish is enough to put a stupid grin on my face for right now, but then again my biike redlines at 9or10k, what does yours redline at? How fast are those bikes, is it faster than mine? We should run in a few weeks,
-
Yea, I was actually impressed how you rode, considering it was pretty much your first time on the real roads. I have riden with many new riders and have had the SHIT scared out of me and right down my leg. You didnt do the classic stalling at traffic lights or anything. Good work man! So did you get on the high way yet??!?!?! Correction, that was my first time on a road, ever on a bike, lol. I'm glad I did decent according to you, I was worried at first but it came pretty easy, just need to get the shifting smoother, but again time/practice and I'll be fine. No highway for me, that little stint we did on stelzer where I got up to 55/60 was enough for me for the time being, especially with the winds yesterday. I might try tomorrow when I'm riding with a buddy, he loves to ride on them, so we'll see, worst thing is I just get off at the first exit cuz i puss out, lol. That guys house was DOPE, and they seemed like cool guys as well. Definitely want to chill there sometime. Sorry I had to run.
-
ok, thanks, I figured they were cuz i'm a big bitch but i know there's gotta be people bigger than me riding. I did turn quite often to check, especially when changing lanes, etc, but I guess in my car I'm almost constantly checking my mirrors, and I'd like to do that even more since I'm afraid of a person running up hard from behind me and hitting me. Going riding with a few people tomorrow after work, around 6 or 7...
-
Again, I can't thank Kevin enough, the brakes were starting to wear on him as me today, but we prevailed and had a good ride today. Only thing I noticed while out riding is my mirrors don't extend far enough to the side, should I buy extensions or new mirrors altogether? They are basically pointless to me right now unless I constantly move in a weird position to use them. Put about 50miles on the bike today, felt really nice! I want some people to cruise with damnit!
-
+2, my gloves look just like the ones above but solid black cuz I'm a pimp! Damn, 78 miles son?! What'd you do, buy it with 75? rofl. I put a hair over 50miles on my bike today, rode out to gahanna, to bexley, out to hooters/reynoldsburg and around downtown, it was a blast! I want to ride some more, you got your temps or endorsement?
-
Hey Brian, Kevin was telling me you brought the mobile bike dyno out at kickstands, I was hoping to make it out this week or next to get dynoed...will it be an every week thing or what?
-
what's up billy boy, where's hinds? We'll be starting near campus/downtown as that's where me and Kevin are, but we can make our way wherever really, but kevin said he knows some good areas to ride and I don't want to/can't get on the hwy yet so it'll just be streets and stuff. call me if anyone else wants to meet up around 12 or 1ish, 614-595-5536. Matt

Well we got almost everything done yesterday, MUCH thanks to Yotaman aka Kevin. Today we're just going to put my right front caliper back on and possibly try and mess with installing my frame sliders, maybe not though as we want to get out and ride since its supposed to be awesome today! Should be 4 of us meeting up around 12-1, anyone is welcome to join up!! Call me if you want to come, 614-595-5536. Matt We used brake cleaner really good and a rag to clean the chain, it was filthy, and then I bought PJ1, the blue can to lube the chain. We also cleaned my k&N air filter, changed the oil/filter, put a new front tire on, adjusted my chain, it was a good/busy day.

21 here, where's the party at?!
-
haha thanks man, I'm glad for the warm welcome and plan to stay awhile, I'm new to the sport but hope I'll get my wings quickly! Hope you make it to Cbus sometime so I can put a face to the name. That includes everyone, and even people that live local, hope I can make it out soon enough and we can kick it. That last house party looked crazy in the pictures! Matt

AFAIK they did away with the tax incentives for 07....might want to double check that...

Ok, I just did a huge research paper and presentation on the pros/cons to hybrid cars and why they are NOT worth all the hype. Honestly, I'm not sure why people buy them. If you'd like some more info or to see my research you're welcome too, but basically it boils down to this. I used the civics as a direct comparision because they had the EXACT same models in both hybrid and gas forms. The gasoline civic starts at around $8k CHEAPER for the inital purchase compared to the hybrid model, of course add $900-$1000 the the price for an auto but still. The hybrid models get an average of 50mpg combined, while the gas models get a combined mpg of 35, seems like a big difference right? Well it isn't once you crunch some numbers. For that $8000 you saved by buying the cheaper but identical gas model you would essentialy be able to travel 94,000 miles on the car completely free....$8000/$3 per gallon of gas =2667 gallons of gas * 35mpg average = just under 94,000miles. Does that make sense? The actual cost difference with taxes and whatnot is over $8k,but I used that since its a nice round number. Do you plan to keep the car longer than 95k miles, remember, the average consumer drives 15k miles per year, so for you to drive 95k miles on the civic it'd be OVER 6 years of ownership, who the hell owns there cars 6+years, not I, I get bored and there's tons of new ones out. Lastly, like stated above, the hybrid models require a battery change at 30k intervals, and are dealer only and aren't cheap. Also, all your service would have to be done at the dealership because normal shops would not be able to diagnose problems on the hybrid w/out the up to date technology and therefore servicing would be more expensve. Overall, its not worth it. Purchase the car if you want but PLEASE do some research before you throw the money down and figure it out for yourself. We all know how reliable a normal civic is, it should run forever, but can the same thing be said about its hybrid substitute? /ramble lol, I told you I literally JUST presented all the facts and info yesterday on this subject.

Took a couple pictures today after playing around for a good hour on it. It's a 99 Honda Superhawk, I originally wanted a sportbike but found this vtwin for a decent price and liked it so I picked it up. I'm kinda glad I picked it up, the greater torque and my insurance on a sport touring is a huge plus. I eventually want to move up to a race replica or whatever sportbike, and might buy a friends gixxer next year when he upgrades to a 1liter version. But this'll be a fun first bike and should be good to learn on. *I'm not hot for the metallic/flake in the paint, but its growing on me. No clue why it was repainted like this. Matt

looks sweet, loving the red/black theme, i see kawasaki but don't know anything more, what model is it? And what happened to your other one? I see a bunch of references to an accident but no details...care to explain? Glad your back on a bike, hope to cruise with you this summer.

Cool, prices seems reasonable except there labor charges! Jebus! $12/tire to mount + $12/balance, + tubes if my tires need them and an extra $5/tire. Are the Pilot Power's tube or tubeless tires? And is changing the seal something we can do in the garage or what? If there's nothing special about mounting/balancing motorcyle tires, I'll take them to my buddy to mount/balance them at NTB. I'm used to throwing him $10-$20 to mount and balance 4 tires on my cars, lol. I did take it today, it was vibrating/bouncing on the front pretty good but other than that it was a blast. Spent about 2 hrs out, got it into 3rd and about 50ish mph, was working on my downshifting and u-turns/tight turns w/out taking my feet off the pegs or holding the clutch in, did pretty good and DEFINITELY feel more comfortable and excited, I got some nice S-curve turns in as well, not sure how much I was leaning, but i definitely know I was. Bike ran great, but it smelled a tad rich when I got off it for a minute to check something and walked behind it. Do they all or what?
-
Does he want a 99 Honda VTR1000 w/ 7k miles on it as partial trade plus cash?
-
Looks like I need a new front tire, and possibly a rear as well. I was checking over the bike today and the front tire is all wavy/worn uneven and the rear doesn't have much tread in the middle. Any tire recommendations? And how do I get the tires changed? Take it to a place or just take the wheel/tire in or what? And I guess how do I get the wheels off, lol, I didn't look at it but I don't know anything about it. Also, I noticed my passenger front shock is leaking something I think. I just noticed right around the seal is wet, what's that mean? Thanks guys see ya saturday Kevin, hope the rain holds off!

I hate the weatherman!! On monday, tuesday and even early yesterday they all said friday/sat/sun was supposed to be sunny and 0% chance of rain. I checked it this morning and I'm pissed. They should be held responsible for my pain!!!!
