  4. The Knox Handroid gloves are probably the most unique looking gloves to come in to the Riders Discount office in quite some time. The exoskeleton spines running up the fingers and across the top of the hand were the first thing to catch my attention. These look like they should be the gloves for Bane carrying a fluorescent green fluid... Next was the wrist closure mechanism. Where there normally would be a Velcro closure on the gauntlet was instead, a Boa Lacing System. On the rest of the glove you'll find a full range of safety and technical features such as Kangaroo leather, external stitching, double layers of leather in impact areas and more we'll go over in this review. Retails at $269.95 First up, these are not yet listed on the website but we have these available to order. If you would like to place an order or have any questions, feel free to give MIKE a call at 866.931.6644 ext. 804. Is email more convenient? Send us a message through this forum or write to us at FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM, and we'll get back to you right away! The exoskeleton spines - While these do look very cool and enough for any curious enthusiast to start a conversation with you, they do serve a very real purpose. These spines are attached to a fixed point on the middle knuckles and move in and out of the top armor via hidden springs. These take a load off of your hand by helping to maintain the curve around your grip and serve as protection for your knuckles in the event you go down. External armor - Everywhere you look there is armor to protect your hand. The most crucial area and a common impact zone is the outside of your palm. Knox have added two sliders here along with an additional layer of leather along the pinky. Knox have also added a palm slider for even more protection. Knox really went above and beyond the "usual" amount of armor found on gloves. This armor position does not get in the way of your handlebar grip and you do not notice it's there. Boa Lacing System - Snowboarders, hikers, hard core runners and bicyclers, will have seen this system before. It's a high-tech replacement for Velcro and offers micro-adjustability. Basically turn the dial until the gauntlet is secured to your liking. When you're done, simply pull the dial out to release the tension. Available in black/white (pictured here), red, white, or all black. These fit true to size and are available today. Give us a call to place your order!
  5. Spidi has been producing gloves since the 1970’s and their 35+ years of experience means that they are no strangers to designing gear that performs at the highest level. The Italian brand used all of this experience, plus input and data from world-class riders like Andrea Dovisioso to bring us their latest and greatest pair of gloves – the Spidi Carbo Track. Available from Riders Discount, the Spidi Carbo Track gloves are full grain cowhide gauntlets that are held together with sturdy Kevlar thread. Multiple layers of leather cover vulnerable areas like the fingers, while synthetic Clarino is laid over it to reinforce the palms. The gloves are also bristling with other protective materials that work with the high-end leather to keep your hands safe. Like many gloves, you will find carbon fiber guards over the knuckles and back of the hands, but there are also multiple layers of energy absorbing materials underneath these pieces that help keep impact force to a minimum. The most noticeable feature of the Carbo Track gloves, however, has to be Spidi’s Warrior Tech system. These are the panels of rubbery, plastic-like material that run from the wrist to the pinkie on the outside of the hand. The material itself is highly abrasion resistant, has excellent impact absorbing properties, and works as a slider to deflect energy away. It is separated in to cube shaped pieces within each panel that allow it to flex extremely well without reducing the amount of protection it provides. Spidi’s Carbo Track gloves are both track ready and comfortable enough to be worn on the street, so they make a great option for any rider that is looking for high-end gloves that provide excellent protection and build quality. You can order a pair by getting in touch with MIKE through the forum or by calling 866.931.6644 ext. 804. If email is more convenient, feel free to send those to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM and we’ll get back to you right away! The Spidi Carbo Track gloves are shown here in the Dovisioso replica graphic, but are also available in White/Black, Black, Black/Red, and Black/Yellow. The palm is reinforced with Clarino and Spidi’s Warrior Tech panels act as palm sliders. From the opposite side you can see how the Warrior Tech panel wraps around and covers the outside of the palm as well. Carbon fiber protects the knuckles and back of the hand. Multiple layers of energy absorbing materials are stacked underneath to keep impact energy to a minimum.
  6. This mid-cuff leather mesh hybrid glove from Spidi offers high end features found in Spidi's more expensive gloves but at an easily affordable price point. The Spidi TX-1 glove available from Riders Discount uses a Hi-Fit sheepskin leather chassis combined with mesh in non-impact zones along with Keramide (similar to Kevlar) reinforcements and Spidi's very own Warrior armor in the palm. A great all-around glove that will work through nearly the entire riding season. Shown here in black/grey. All black is also available. You can place an order for these gloves via our website, or give MIKE a call at 866.931.6644 ext 804. Is email more convenient? Send us a message through this forum or write to us at FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM, and we'll get back to you right away! Powertech thermoformed knuckle protection over top Keramide. TPU sliders on the knuckles add that extra touch of protection if you end up sliding the top of your hand. Spidi uses Clarino (synthetic leather-like material) for the palm. Also note the extra sheepskin across the top of the palm and at the base of the thumb. Also note Spidi's Warrior armor to protect the outside of the hand. We really like the placement of the Warrior armor here. Compared with other manufacturers that use a hard slider, the Warrior armor flexes and moves with the hand better. It's hardly noticeable when you're wearing the glove. This has a European cut and is sized as such. If you typically wear a Euro brand such as Alpinestars, then order your normal size. However, if you are new to a Euro brand and typically wear brands such as Icon or Speed and Strength, we definitely recommend going up from your normal size.
  7. The Tractech Evo glove available from Riders Discount is the perfect glove for riders that want a race/sport glove without some of the purebred race features you'd find on the Pro Series or other high-end gloves. With a retail value at $99.99, we feel this is one of the best gloves you can buy for under $100. Available in white or black shown here. Constructed with premium grade cowhide using KEVLAR thread and and KEVLAR palm panels, the Tractech Evo still maintains high levels of safety so you can be sure you'll be protected in the event of a crash. A conjoined fourth and fifth finger prevent your pinky from rolling over on itself while you're rolling along the ground. Cool looking split carbon fiber knuckles add that extra layer of protection between you and the asphalt. These RST gloves are not yet listed on the website. If you would like to place an order, give MIKE a call at 866.931.6644 ext. 804. Is email more convenient? Send us a message through this forum or write to us at FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM, and we'll get back to you right away!
  8. Unfortunately, fall is pretty much here which means that riding season is drawing to a close with chillier morning and evening commutes. What better way to extend your riding season than with FirstGear heated gear options available from Riders Discount. With items ranging from complete jackets, to sock liners, you’re sure to be warm wearing any of their heated products. Pictured below is the jacket liner, glove liner, sock liner, main harness, wireless dual heat-troller harness, and a USB charging port that can connect to the Firstgear harness. Required with any of the FirstGear heated gear is the Heat-Troller kit, offered in both a single or dual thermostat option. The single Heat-Troller allows you to variably control the heat output of one or multiple connected garments such as a jacket and gloves, or jacket and pants liner. A dual Heat-Troller (pictured) allows you to variably control heat between any set of gear. For instance, a dual allows you to maintain heat on the jacket, and simultaneously crank the heat for the gloves, pants, and socks. Pictured below is the waterproof wireless remote that is pre-paired out of the box. With velcro, or wrist strap mount options, you can keep this tethered around your arm, or mount it to your handlebars. One of the more common package purchases is the jacket liner and gloves option available from FirstGear. Shown here simply pull the plug from the arm pocket of the liner to easily connect to the glove liner. Purchase the same size liner as your glove size. Or, if you'd rather just get a full leather glove, we also have the FirstGear Heated Rider Gloves in stock. This also fits true to size and have heating elements in the fingers, thumb, and back of the hand. An optional “Passenger Glove” has the added feature of a heated palm. Rubber wiper sewn in to aid in wiping your shield of any moisture. Mix and match any option to suit your needs. For more information about this kit, or any of the other FirstGear heated apparel, be sure to give MIKE a call at 866.931.6644 ext. 804. Is email more convenient? Feel free to send those to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM and we’ll get back to you right away!
  9. Unbeatable protection without breaking the bank. The Cortech Adrenaline II gloves available from Riders Discount are an all-around perfect solution whether you're on the track or out for a Sunday morning cruise. With a combination of cowhide and kangaroo leather, plus Knox armor on the palm and knuckles, your hands will feel as if nothing happened when you hit the deck. Best of all, they're CE approved. Supple kangaroo skin combined with digital leather on the palm and fingers help you maintain a positive grip on the bars. Also note the dual palm sliders. This is a key feature that gets overlooked with other brands as most riders instinctively put their palms down first. Plenty of perforation throughout the glove to keep the wind flowing on to your hand keeping you calm, cool, and collected. The Cortech Adrenaline II Gloves are available in blue, black, red, and white (not pictured). Sizing is standard, no tricks with this one. If you would like to place an order, send MIKE a message through this forum or give him a call at 866.931.6644 ext. 804. Is email more convenient? Write us at FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM, and we'll get back to you right away!

  11. Spidi started life as a glove manufacturer in the 1970’s and they didn’t waste any time in elevating themselves to the world class level. They succeeded in establishing their reputation as a top brand only two years after the company was founded, when they supplied gloves for Kenny Roberts during his run up to winning the 1979 world championship. Spidi hasn’t looked back since. Fast forward to the present and you now find world class riders like Cal Crutchlow and Andrea Dovisioso representing the brand in MotoGP. Spidi’s Carbo-3 gloves available from Riders Discount are constructed using very high quality leather from the same Japanese cows that provide Kobe beef. The leather is not only strong, but extremely soft, so the end result is a very supple pair of gloves that feels like well worn in the first time you try them on. This translates into excellent feel on the controls from day one. Spidi added even more flexibility by incorporating accordion stretch panels on the back of the thumb, as well as the tops of the index and ring fingers so that you don’t have to strain when going for the brake or clutch. Most riders have a list of things that can make gloves uncomfortable for them and obtrusive seams in the fingers are generally pretty high on the list. This isn’t a problem at all with the Carbo-3’s. Spidi’s internal seams can barely be felt and they don’t hinder finger movement at all. Rider safety is a top priority for Spidi and they used the experience gained during their 35+ years of competition, as well as plenty of input from their top riders to make sure that the Carbo-3’s keep your hands protected. These gloves were the first to use Spidi’s new uniquely shaped carbon fiber knuckle protector which was designed to reduce the risk of the hand catching and flipping during a slide. Energy absorbing foam backs this protector and extends up towards the wrist for extra protection on the top of the hand. The same foam is also found on base of the palm and outside of the wrist since they are the areas most likely to take an impact. Spidi used multiple layers of leather and clarino in not only the previously mentioned impact zones, but also the fingers and up outside of the hand to the end of the pinky. A long gauntlet with a dual stage, overlapping velcro closure protects the upper wrist and works together with the lower wrist-strap to help keep everything in place with a good snug fit. The Carbo-3’s are available in black, white/black, white/red, fl.yellow/black, white/blue/yellow, and red/white/green. Fit on the gloves may be a touch small. I typically wear a medium and found it tough to initially squeeze through the wrist/palm area but once it was on it was perfect. The Spidi Carbo-3 gloves are a great option for anyone that looks for excellent feel and flexibility in their gloves. Feel free to get in touch with MIKE at at 866.931.6644 ext. 804 today if you have any questions or would like to pick up a pair of your own. You can shoot him a PM through this forum or send an email to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM and we’ll get back to you right away!

  13. Riders Discount now has arguably the #1 pair of motorcycle gloves on the market back in stock and ready to ship - the Held Titans. This is not a claim that we are not just throwing out there. It is backed by a large number of independent tests from all over the world. The Held Titans were designed to offer uncompromising safety, and this becomes very clear when you read the list of materials that went into the production of this glove - kangaroo leather, stingray leather, Kevlar, titanium, and carbon fiber. Held could not have built any more safety features into their flagship pair of gloves. The first thing that nearly everyone notices on these gloves is the stingray leather (yes, real Stingray leather). The stingray leather found on to the major abrasion zones of this glove is something that you won't find on any gloves outside of the Held brand. Stingray leather is extremely abrasion resistant and it is actually slick, meaning that it will not grab or catch while sliding. Standard cowhide gloves can catch while sliding, which results in injuries from the hand flipping. Stingray leather is extremely abrasion resistant and very prominent on this glove. To give you an idea how strong Stingray leather is - using the same friction wheel, kangaroo leather is chafed through after only 4,000 revolutions whereas stingray leather was chafed through after 20,000 revolutions From the end of the gauntlet to the tips of the fingers, the entire topside of each glove is lined with Kevlar. This is Held we're talking about, so you know they didn't stop there. The top of the hand is also guarded by a Carbon-Aramid-Kohlehybrid shell that stops where the knuckle protection begins. The knuckles are guarded by a titanium covered carbon fiber piece that is heated to just over 840 degrees F before being pressed into shape. Held also added shock absorbing padding for more comfort and extra protection. The amazing attention to detail that Held puts into the safety features carries over into all aspects of the Titan gloves. Each Titan glove is made from 150 individual pieces and it takes around 90 minutes of sewing time to complete a single pair. This elaborate construction means that you end up with a pair of gloves that is not only highly protective, but also very comfortable. Helping with the comfort are the step seams that Held uses. They remain strong while never creating pressure points or interfering with the feel. Elasticated leather panels add to the comfort by making them flexible and giving them a broken in feel when brand new. Available in black... and white/black from Riders Discount. These gloves also feature a handy little shield squeegee on the left index finger for keeping your shield free of moisture. If you’re looking for the best of best glove on the market today, look no further than the Held Titan. These gloves sell for $380 and Held requests that they be sold for no less than this amount. We feel that a glove of this caliber is worth it due to their superior quality and top-notch safety standards. You just cannot buy a safer glove. These are not listed on our website yet, so order your pair by calling MIKE at 866.931.6644 ext 804 today! If you have any questions, please feel free to shoot us a PM or send us an email to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM, and we’ll get back to you right away!

  17. Friend of mine sold his sportbike a few years ago and never got around to selling his gear. This is older stuff but still in great shape. Has had little use ( a few trackdays and a Deal's Gap weekend ), but there is some slight damage to the suit and helmet from a slow lowside. He doesn't want it split up, and would like to sell it as a complete set. He's asking $350 SHIPPED for it all. Teknic Chicane 1 piece. Size 40/50. Perforated panels. Fresh Joe Rocket pucks ( aside from the left puck touching down on his lowside ). One small tear at the left knee ( see pic below ). Otherwise in great shape except for a little light soil here and there from the grass excursion. The helmet is an older HJC Fusion 2 -- shows quite a bit of wear and the tag is missing inside but a smaller tag does show it's for hat size 7-3/8" to 7-1/2". Scuffed from the lowside and basically a freebie to whoever buys this gear. The gloves are leather Teknic gauntlets. Size small. In great shape with little use and no damage to them at all. The boots are Vega Nitro size 10. Again, very little use and in great shape except for the RH heel has a bit of melt from his highmount exhaust -- but it's virtually undectable when worn ( see pic below ). Gear bag is Kawasaki branded. Seems well made and has a plastic reinforced floor in it. Large bag, holds all of this gear with ease.

  21. I've acquired some new gear that fits me a little better so I'm selling off all my other stuff. (Pics posted below) Alpinestars Carver Race Suit Sz. 46/56 Used this suit for two seasons and it has served me well. The suit is solid and in good shape. I've crashed in it twice (no injuries), so it has the expected scrapes and scuffs. There is a very small hole in one of the forearms, but there is armor behind it and it was so small that I didn't bother having it fixed. I also had to have the left ass cheek panel repaired. I put a decent hole in the leather there, and my leather repair guy ended up placing a new leather panel over that entire area. The black leather he used is a slightly different texture than the rest, but it is hardly noticeable unless you're looking for it. That part of the suit is probably stronger than it was before. Other than that this is a really good suit for racing, track days, or the street. $300 Komodo K-FX Race Gloves Sz. L (but honestly fit more like a XXL) These gloves are amazing! Very comfortable and super protective. Unfortunately, I have very long, skinny hands and fingers, so the length of the gloves was perfect but there's just a little too much room in the body of the glove for me. Only used for a couple of track days and are in excellent condition. Quality gloves: kangaroo palms, full gauntlet with big wrist protector/slider, Schoeller Keprotec used in high impact areas, and Knox Scaphoid Protection System (palm sliders). $90 Alpinestars SP2 Race Gloves Sz. L Used these full gauntlet gloves for two seasons, and they show some signs of wear. Mostly cosmetic though as they are still solid with no rips or tears even though I've been down in them twice. The extra layer of fabric placed over the leather on the left thumb is starting to come off just from wear from the handlebar. I don't think this is a big deal though, they just don't look quite as pretty as they used to. Good protection for cheap. $40 Alpinestars SMX-R Race Boots Sz. 47 (12 U.S.) Also used these for two race seasons and these bad boys show it! Crashed in twice but they saved my feet. Still a solid pair of boots but with a few issues: hole wearing through on top of the left foot from shifter, hole wore through on right boot ankle from rubbing on my heel guard, and sole of right boot pretty worn from the sharp ass Vortex foot peg. But still better protection than no boots at all! Would probably be nice for a street guy too who wants a little extra protection for "spirited" rides. $60 Prices do not include shipping, but I'm willing to meet people within a reasonable distance. I live in Cleveland, but will be in Columbus starting mid-May. Email is the best way to contact me: mpm109@case.edu Pics will be posted below.
  22. I have a nice set of full gauntlet AGV Sport race gloves for sale. I bought them a few years back and they ended up being just a bit too small for me. They are size Large. I kept them around as backups, but they've just been sitting around so I figured I might as well get rid of them. They have only been used a handful of times and are in great shape. They look pretty cool too. Red, black, and white in color. Great glove at a cheap price! $50.00 plus shipping, or local Cleveland pickup. (For some reason it won't let me upload the pics because they are too large, which is ridiculous. Just email me at mpm109@case.edu for pics or request in this thread with an email address.)
