  1. As long as there's traction and heat, there's no end to the riding season according to Gerbing. Our hands are the first thing that gets cold and what better item to add to your riding gear collection than Gerbing's 12V EX heated gloves available from Riders Discount with retail at $179.99. Gloves, power harness, Y-harness, and a set of fuses are included in the box. Not yet listed on our website, these Gerbing heated gloves can be ordered by calling MIKE at 866.931.6644 ext. 804 or by sending us a private message through this forum. Is email more convenient? Designed to work seamlessly with Gerbing's coreheat12 riding system, the Gerbing EX gloves come with a battery harness and y-harness however we recommend purchasing a temperature controller to avoid overheating and burns. Single and dual temp controllers are available with the dual shown here. We highly recommend getting the dual as more often than not, customers are ordering at least a jacket liner and gloves and the dual controller allows you to control the temps separately from one another. Note: Gloves can work on their own with a single temp controller. A jacket is not required. Using Gerbing's patented micro-wire heating technology, this glove gets from cold to hot in around 4 seconds. Using stainless steel bundled wire, the heating elements will last last for a long time and are actually guaranteed for life. Electrical plugs, connectors, and any solder joints, as well as all materials and craftsmanship are covered by a one year warranty from date of purchase. Even if you don't have the heat turned on, you'll stay plenty warm thanks to this fleece lined interior - The gloves themselves feature an ergonomic finger curve for flexibility, wrist cinch straps, wear resistant palms with palm sliders, and rain wiper on the left index finger. Coreheat12 Thermovelocity System is powered by your motorcycle's battery and using a combination of included harnesses and optional temp controllers, you can combine these gloves to work with any of the coreheat12 riding apparel from Gerbing. Riders Discount carries the full line of Gerbing products! If you have any questions or would like to place an order, give our expert sales staff a call today! 2. The Knox Covert glove is a great wet weather glove from Knox using all new OutDry technology, the latest and greatest in waterproofing. Available from Riders Discount at $139.95, add these gloves to your shopping cart on our website or if you have any questions give MIKE a call at 866.931.6644 ext. 804. Is email more convenient? Knox also includes their dual scaphoid protection sliders that promote a slide allowing energy to be dispersed through the glove itself rather than your bones. Pittards digital goat leather is overlayed on the palm and fingers for additional durability and grip. 6. I have a mount between the handlebars which holds my phone while I ride. In order to be able to actually do anything with it, I needed to get or make touchscreen motorcycle gloves. I had already purchased Scorpion SG3 gloves and like them, so I wanted to find a way to make them work with touchscreen devices. I ended up buying both Nanotips and Anyglove - leather versions only - and trying them out. The first product I found and tried was Nanotips, which I saw on TwoWheelObsession on YouTube. Nanotips makes me think of black nail polish. The bottle is shaped like a nail polish bottle. The cap has a brush in it that is like a nail polish brush. It smells like nail polish. You paint the liquid onto your glove's fingertip and let it dry. It is generally recommended that you use a hair dryer for drying. When I didn't, the gloves weren't quite as good at touchscreens, but that second layer may have mattered more. Nanotips essentially creates a black rubbery layer on your gloves. Worked fine for me while the rubber stayed on. After two weeks it peeled off my index fingers, and about three days after that it peeled off my thumbs. During that time I had found out about Anyglove and bought a bottle to try. Anyglove comes in a bottle with a drip tip. Drip on, smear around, dry with a hair dryer. This stuff didn't make a separate layer over the leather. In fact, it wasn't very visible at all on the black leather. Durability was also better - three weeks is the least an application has lasted. I definitely like Anyglove better than Nanotips. I'm wondering if Nanotips' rubbery layer might be better for rough leather or other non-smooth surfaces. The layer might also have lasted longer if I had cleaned my gloves better. If you have any questions, ask away!
  7. The Rust and Redemption gloves from Speed and Strength offer that cool, clean, classic look to match your vintage styled bike. Available at Riders Discount, you can place an order for these gloves via our website, or give MIKE a call at 866.931.6644 ext 804. Is email more convenient? Send us a message through this forum or write to us at FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM, and we'll get back to you right away! The Speed and Strength Rust and Redemption gloves use distressed goatskin throughout and are available in three different colors - black, brown (shown here), and olive. Heavily perforated, these gloves flow a lot of air to help keep you cool on your bike. Also note the foam pad inserts at the end of the fingers for added protection as well as the elastic knuckles keeping you comfortable allowing you to maintain full control. The vintage styling cues continue on back to the wrist with distressed goatskin leather that is contrast stitched enhancing the look even further. On the palm you'll find a double layer of goatskin along the thumb continuing across the palm, as well as on the heel of your palm. This is sized "American" so it fits a little bigger than what you may be used to if you typically wear Euro brands. Pair it up with the rest of the Rust and Redemption line to complete the look!

  9. The Knox Handroid gloves are probably the most unique looking gloves to come in to the Riders Discount office in quite some time. The exoskeleton spines running up the fingers and across the top of the hand were the first thing to catch my attention. These look like they should be the gloves for Bane carrying a fluorescent green fluid... Next was the wrist closure mechanism. Where there normally would be a Velcro closure on the gauntlet was instead, a Boa Lacing System. On the rest of the glove you'll find a full range of safety and technical features such as Kangaroo leather, external stitching, double layers of leather in impact areas and more we'll go over in this review. Retails at $269.95 First up, these are not yet listed on the website but we have these available to order. If you would like to place an order or have any questions, feel free to give MIKE a call at 866.931.6644 ext. 804. Is email more convenient? Send us a message through this forum or write to us at FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM, and we'll get back to you right away! The exoskeleton spines - While these do look very cool and enough for any curious enthusiast to start a conversation with you, they do serve a very real purpose. These spines are attached to a fixed point on the middle knuckles and move in and out of the top armor via hidden springs. These take a load off of your hand by helping to maintain the curve around your grip and serve as protection for your knuckles in the event you go down. External armor - Everywhere you look there is armor to protect your hand. The most crucial area and a common impact zone is the outside of your palm. Knox have added two sliders here along with an additional layer of leather along the pinky. Knox have also added a palm slider for even more protection. Knox really went above and beyond the "usual" amount of armor found on gloves. This armor position does not get in the way of your handlebar grip and you do not notice it's there. Boa Lacing System - Snowboarders, hikers, hard core runners and bicyclers, will have seen this system before. It's a high-tech replacement for Velcro and offers micro-adjustability. Basically turn the dial until the gauntlet is secured to your liking. When you're done, simply pull the dial out to release the tension. Available in black/white (pictured here), red, white, or all black. These fit true to size and are available today. Give us a call to place your order!
  10. Our most popular glove, the Alpinestars GP Pro gloves are in stock and ready to ship from Riders Discount today! Available in black, black/white/red, white/red/black, or black/white/hi-viz yellow shown here. The Alpinestars GP Pro gloves are available to purchase through our website with retail at $239.95. If you need help placing your order, or have any questions about the product, feel free to give MIKE a call at 866.931.6644 ext. 804. Is email more convenient? Send us a private message through this forum or write to us at FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM, and we'll get back to you right away! Fit is a little small. We recommend going up one size from your usual Alpinestars glove size. Worried about ordering the wrong size? Don't worry, Riders Discount has an easy returns and exchanges policy. Since their introduction, the Alpinestars GP Pro gloves have been one of the best selling pairs in the Alpinestars glove line-up. Their great balance of protection, comfort, and price made them extremely popular for both the track and the street. Alpinestars has brought out the new, re-engineered version of the the GP Pro’s, and they didn't disappoint. Apart from the new styling, the new GP Pro gloves look quite similar to the outgoing version. This is because defining features like the TPU knuckle protectors and cuff have already proven to be extremely effective at the top levels of racing and did not need to be changed. Don’t let the similar appearance fool you, because Alpinestars did make some key improvements. The most important addition is probably the L-shaped slider that sits on outside of each palm. This TPU piece helps keep the hand from catching in the event of a palms out landing. It is extremely abrasion resistant and slick so that impact energy is deflected into a slide, rather than being transmitted up the hand and into the wrist. Alpinestars kept their patented finger-bridge connecting the pinky to the ring finger, but the pinky itself received a big upgrade. Replacing the old double-layered leather is a significantly stronger system that Alpinestars calls K-Tech. This surrounds the pinky in two layers of Kevlar, two layers of leather, and energy absorbing foam for very high levels of impact protection and abrasion resistance. A Kevlar lining also covers the top of the hand, all fingers and outside of the thumb. Available today from Riders Discount, let us know what color you want to order and give us a call or send us an email to order these Alpinestars GP Pro gloves today!
  11. The Alpinestars SP-2 Leather glove available from Riders Discount has been revamped for 2014 with fresh styling and enhanced safety and convenience features to meet rider's needs. A superbly styled and anatomically profiled glove for sports or naked bike enthusiasts the SP-2 has a full grain leather chassis incorporating multi-panel reinforcements for abrasion resistance and fit. The SP-2 features a robust carbon compound knuckle guard to significantly ramp up its protective capabilities. Constructed from a supple and highly durable full-grain leather chassis to provide core abrasion resistance and durability. Synthetic suede reinforcements on palm and landing zones for maximum abrasion resistance. Alpinestars has redesigned the carbon knuckle guard providing exceptional impact and abrasion protection. Alpinestars’ patented finger-bridge prevents excessive finger roll and separation during impacts. Perforated cuff, leather top panel and ventilated finger sidewalls help keep the hands cool. All 2014 gloves from Alpinestars now feature a touch screen compatible fingertip area on the index for use with smartphones and GPS systems. You can get expert sizing advice and more information about ordering by getting in touch with MIKE through the forum or by calling 866.931.6644 ext. 804. Is email more convenient? 12. The latest iteration from Alpinestars for their SMX-2 Air Carbon riding glove. Featuring the latest updates in safety as well as touchscreen compatibility, Alpinestars has really refined this glove into an excellent short cuff piece to add to your collection. Alpinestars has redesigned the look of their carbon knuckles for a sleeker appearance and provides better performance in case of impact. Synthetic suede reinforcements on the palm, fingers, and landing zones provide maximum abrasion resistance in key impact zones. 3D mesh finger and thumb surfaces for additional cooling as well as touchscreen compatible index and thumb fingertips. 13. I have a nice set of full gauntlet AGV Sport race gloves for sale. I bought them a few years back and they ended up being just a bit too small for me. They are size Large. I kept them around as backups, but they've just been sitting around so I figured I might as well get rid of them. They have only been used a handful of times and are in great shape. They look pretty cool too. Red, black, and white in color. Great glove at a cheap price! $50.00 plus shipping, or local Cleveland pickup. (For some reason it won't let me upload the pics because they are too large, which is ridiculous. Just email me at mpm109@case.edu for pics or request in this thread with an email address.)
  14. I've acquired some new gear that fits me a little better so I'm selling off all my other stuff. (Pics posted below) Alpinestars Carver Race Suit Sz. 46/56 Used this suit for two seasons and it has served me well. The suit is solid and in good shape. I've crashed in it twice (no injuries), so it has the expected scrapes and scuffs. There is a very small hole in one of the forearms, but there is armor behind it and it was so small that I didn't bother having it fixed. I also had to have the left ass cheek panel repaired. I put a decent hole in the leather there, and my leather repair guy ended up placing a new leather panel over that entire area. The black leather he used is a slightly different texture than the rest, but it is hardly noticeable unless you're looking for it. That part of the suit is probably stronger than it was before. Other than that this is a really good suit for racing, track days, or the street. $300 Komodo K-FX Race Gloves Sz. L (but honestly fit more like a XXL) These gloves are amazing! Very comfortable and super protective. Unfortunately, I have very long, skinny hands and fingers, so the length of the gloves was perfect but there's just a little too much room in the body of the glove for me. Only used for a couple of track days and are in excellent condition. Quality gloves: kangaroo palms, full gauntlet with big wrist protector/slider, Schoeller Keprotec used in high impact areas, and Knox Scaphoid Protection System (palm sliders). $90 Alpinestars SP2 Race Gloves Sz. L Used these full gauntlet gloves for two seasons, and they show some signs of wear. Mostly cosmetic though as they are still solid with no rips or tears even though I've been down in them twice. The extra layer of fabric placed over the leather on the left thumb is starting to come off just from wear from the handlebar. I don't think this is a big deal though, they just don't look quite as pretty as they used to. Good protection for cheap. $40 Alpinestars SMX-R Race Boots Sz. 47 (12 U.S.) Also used these for two race seasons and these bad boys show it! Crashed in twice but they saved my feet. Still a solid pair of boots but with a few issues: hole wearing through on top of the left foot from shifter, hole wore through on right boot ankle from rubbing on my heel guard, and sole of right boot pretty worn from the sharp ass Vortex foot peg. But still better protection than no boots at all! Would probably be nice for a street guy too who wants a little extra protection for "spirited" rides. $60 Prices do not include shipping, but I'm willing to meet people within a reasonable distance. I live in Cleveland, but will be in Columbus starting mid-May. Email is the best way to contact me: mpm109@case.edu Pics will be posted below.
  15. Constructed of full grain leather and mesh, the Alpinestars SP Air Leather Gloves offer the perfect combination of ventilation and protection. The gloves have a long gauntlet with two Velcro closures: a wrist adjuster and a strap on the cuff. Perforated leather allows for excellent airflow, keeping your hands cool and dry in warm weather. The knuckles incorporate TPU knuckle protectors that absorb impact and feature air intake vents. TPR air intakes on the fingers provide additional ventilation. These gloves have accordion stretch inserts on the fingers and thumbs to provide extra comfort and flexibility. A finger bridge over the third and fourth finger helps to protect fingers from separation and contortion in a crash. The palms have synthetic suede reinforcements to allow for better grip and protection. TPU palm sliders are impact and abrasion resistant. The index fingertips and thumbs are touchscreen compatible. MSRP $129.95 The Alpinestars SP Air Leather Gloves are also available in a women's version. If you have any questions about the product or would like to place an order, feel free to give MIKE a call at 866.931.6644 ext. 804. Is email more convenient? 19. There used to be a leather place on Route 14 in Streetsboro which sold outstanding jackets and motorcycle gear made with leather. That place no longer exists. Anyone know of stores in Ohio or within 100 miles of Cleveland that sells leather motorcycle jackets and other apparel? I don't want to buy from online and run the risk of having to return what does not fit right. Thanks, Fin
