Well, enough time has passed that you should really already know Marc Marquez was crowned MotoGP World Champion for the second consecutive year at Motegi. From Shoei's latest release of new graphics comes the "Cog" graphic on the popular GT-Air model. A cog is simply another name for a gear which is the prevalent theme throughout this helmet. On the right side we have various cogwheels and reducer gears connected to an antiqued rod and piston. On the left side the cogs are connected to a smashed and exposed tachometer. All the cog elements have a metallic property to them and the flake really comes out in the light. Overall, this is one of the more visually intriguing helmets out of the Shoei factory as of late. If you’re considering a helmet on the lower end of the price-scale, you definitely want it to be both comfortable and safe. One of the cooler skull graphics we've seen come through the Riders Discount office in a while, the Scorpion EXO-500 packs features everyone desires into this helmet along with an affordable price. Scorpion includes a drop down sun visor treated with antifog on both sides. It is not very common for helmets with an inner shield to have any rating higher than DOT, however Scorpion has done it achieving an ECE approved rating. Rotate the inner shield up or down with a simple to use and easy to find with gloves on lever behind the shield. The EXO-500 includes a very comfortable Kwickwick2 moisture wicking, removable, washable, hypoallerginic liner that allows for a custom fit with the patented Airfit technology. Bell has released all new 2014 colorways for their Star Carbon line including this graphic from Chris Wood of Airtrix, the Airtrix Boogie. What’s most noticeable on this particular graphic is the mixture of gloss and matte finishes showing off the carbon weave underneath. The gloss red, grey, and silver graphics are separated by a gold flake pin stripe. As with the previous Bell Star Carbon helmets, this version uses an outer shell that is made from 100% carbon fiber. Bell spent a great deal of time engineering the shell to be not only lightweight and strong, but very aerodynamic as well. What they came up with was an angular shape with a uniquely contoured spoiler, both of which make this helmet extremely stable and resistant to buffeting. Air is also directed into the variety of strategically placed vents at the front in order to push warm, stale air out through the exhaust vents at the back. All vents are independently adjustable so that you can dial in the ventilation for a variety of conditions. Another feature that goes unchanged is the shield system. The Star Carbon uses their fog and scratch resistant NutraFog II face shield in order to keep your view clear. It’s also treated with a potent anti-UV coating so that you don’t have to worry about your face being burnt red after a day’s ride in the sun. Bell’s 3Mode Shield allows you to quickly lock the visor down, crack it open for added ventilation and swap out faceshields with no tools required. These visors have the same great benefits of the included unit, but also change their tint based upon lighting conditions. Friend of mine sold his sportbike a few years ago and never got around to selling his gear. This is older stuff but still in great shape. Has had little use ( a few trackdays and a Deal's Gap weekend ), but there is some slight damage to the suit and helmet from a slow lowside. He doesn't want it split up, and would like to sell it as a complete set. He's asking $350 SHIPPED for it all. Teknic Chicane 1 piece. Size 40/50. Perforated panels. Fresh Joe Rocket pucks ( aside from the left puck touching down on his lowside ). One small tear at the left knee ( see pic below ). Otherwise in great shape except for a little light soil here and there from the grass excursion. The helmet is an older HJC Fusion 2 -- shows quite a bit of wear and the tag is missing inside but a smaller tag does show it's for hat size 7-3/8" to 7-1/2". Scuffed from the lowside and basically a freebie to whoever buys this gear. The gloves are leather Teknic gauntlets. Size small. In great shape with little use and no damage to them at all. The boots are Vega Nitro size 10. Again, very little use and in great shape except for the RH heel has a bit of melt from his highmount exhaust -- but it's virtually undectable when worn ( see pic below ). Gear bag is Kawasaki branded. Seems well made and has a plastic reinforced floor in it. Large bag, holds all of this gear with ease.

The FG-17 from HJC can be considered an excellent entry level/first helmet for a new rider or spare helmet for yourself or a passenger.
