Each year during the MotoGP Winter Test, Valentino Rossi sports a new helmet designed by friend and artist Aldo Drudi. The AGV Pista GP Rossi Winter Test 2016 Helmet features a large snowman on the top of the helmet, as well as Rossi's number 46 on the back. On the front below the chin vent is Rossi's signature. Developed with the help of Valentino Rossi and other professional motorcycle racers, the Pista GP Helmet is the top race helmet made by AGV. Both lightweight and durable, this helmet offers professional, race-quality protection. The shell of the Pista GP is made entirely out of durable carbon fiber. A special Visor Lock System (VLS) prevents the visor from accidentally opening in the case of a crash. To unlock the visor, you simply push a button. The visor aperture is 9% larger, increasing the field of vision by 15 degrees. The ventilation system built into this helmet is top of the line, offering 193% more airflow than its predecessor. It has 4 front vents (3 at the front and one on the chin guard) and 2 rear extractors, allowing cool air to enter the helmet and hot air to exit the back. Working along with the external vents is the Integrated Ventilation System (IVS). The IVS consists of hollowed out air ducts and vents that direct air to flow to the rider's head. The air wing on the Pista reduces the downward force by 44%, drastically decreasing the lift effects of riding in the race-tuck position. It was designed to be removable and break off in a crash (prevents the helmet from catching). Inside of the helmet you'll find a neoprene neck roll, designed for added comfort. The crown and cheek pads are multi-density to eliminate hot spots. Small, removable disks help to shape the interior specifically to each rider's head. The interior is micro-perforated to help with ventilation and wicking away moisture. It is also completely removable and washable.
