Just in time for Christmas, I've completed a 2017 calendar to grace every Rider's garage wall next year, especially if you like vintage BMWs. Its titled Vintage Beemers and Beautiful Women. It features 5 vintage/classic BMW motorcycles, one sidecar and 7 beautiful models on thirteen monthly calendar pages, starting with December 2016. Its not expensive and can be previewed and bought at the link below. World wide shipping of the printed calendar is available, and there is also a digital version. Three of the bikes are mine, but the models are pros! I do ride the bikes so you may spot the them running the roads of Ohio. Help out by buying this calendar, and I'll know there might be interest for more future versions, even perhaps a "faster" one i.e."faster = "racier!" 2017 Vintage Beemers and Beautiful Women

BMW Introduces R 1200 GS xDrive Hybrid Two-Wheel Drive Motorcycle Source: http://ridermagazine.com/2017/03/31/bmw-introduces-r-1200-gs-xdrive-hybrid-two-wheel-drive-motorcycle/ Rider Magazine StaffMarch 31, 2017 "Yes, you read that headline correctly. BMW Motorrad has developed and tested a two-wheel drive version of its R 1200 GS Adventure, claiming it’s “the world’s first series-production all-wheel drive travel enduro with hybrid drive.” Unlike the mechanical all-wheel drive (AWD) system made by Christini for dirt bikes, BMW’s xDrive Hybrid system uses a 45-horsepower electric motor housed in the front wheel hub. When activated and combined with the air/liquid-cooled, 125-horsepower, shaft-driven boxer twin engine that powers all R-series models, the R 1200 GS xDrive Hybrid makes a combined 170 horsepower (claimed). BMW says that making the front wheel driven provides superior traction in slippery, low-traction conditions, much like all-wheel drive cars, and the xDrive Hybrid system was originally developed by BMW’s automotive division. All-wheel drive can be operated automatically or manually by the rider via the 2WD (2-Wheel Drive) switch located on the left handlebar’s switchgear, activating the wheel-hub e-Drive system that functions both as electric motor and generator." I'm riding a BMW 1150 GSA. My first bike was a 1978 Honda CX500 which I rode exclusively in my early 20's. After 2.5 decades of hell on four wheels I finally got another bike in December of 2015. Riding non-stop since, I decided to stretch my wings and rode to New Hampshire then up to Maine, then rode 1023 miles in 21 hours from Acadia back home. The 4 AM thunderous and lightening filled torrential down pore only added to my "Bat out of Hell," Meatloaf lust for life and didn't stop me one bit. The bike was a champ and I remained dry as a scorpion in the desert sun. Only now have I heard of the Iron Butt! But who needs patches? "We don't need no stink'n patches!" Be that as it may... I'm planning on one more trip this summer, 1500 miles in 36 hours, before I have to get serious on my new career path. I want to hit Savannah, Georgia and back. If there are any serious riders out here who want to do the same trip or similar ... give me a heads up. I hear there's a great oyster bar there named "Sorry Charlie's Oyster Bar" and a great pier called "Tybee Beach Pier and Pavilion." If anyone asks, why the trip... the obvious answer is, "I'm hungry for some oysters." Look me up if you want to go. ~Fin

It's been awhile since I've posted on here, but I wanted to share my new bike with everyone. I'm really looking forward to the long distance trips on it, which I couldn't do on my R1. It's a 2014 BMW K 1600 GTL, with all the bells and whistles.
