Swapped out my stunt regulator on my 03 Tuono (25,000 miles) to an cheap ebay FA012 mosfet shunt from a wrecked R1. fins actually have a tiny bit of rash and connector was cracked. Just used spade connections and hot glue to the unit and cut out the Brown Connector off and used crimped splices and shrinkwrap. Today instead of half my subframe being "HotPlate" it's now body temp and more importantly I get charging voltage higher then 13.5V at high rpm. I should have read it with an infrared thermometer on it before the swap. I ran my old lead battery just in case and am swapping my WPS featherweight LIPO back in now. I wonder if there wasn't a bad quality wire supplier around 99/2000 a lot of bikes have bad rectifiers and the ones I've chopped have had patina looking colored copper. I'm also a VFR failed stator veteran.
