AGV Horizon Helmet

The AGV Horizon is a new offering from the Italian brand that enters the line-up as a replacement for the Stealth SV. This aggressively contoured helmet is notable for bringing together a combination of high-end features and an internal sunvisor at an affordable, mid-range price.

At a glance, the new Horizon cuts an aggressive profile that is visually striking. The aerodynamic shell is made of a new composite material that AGV calls Carbonglass. It is a mix of carbon and fiberglass provides mix of strength and lightness. The shell also has AGV’s IVS (Integrated Ventilation System) built into it like their top-end GP-Tech. Vents above the forehead allow air to enter the channels in the shell that move it quietly and efficiently throughout the helmet. These upper vents, combined with the intakes on the chin, and the plush, moisture-wicking Dri-Lex liner mean that the Horizon keeps your head feeling fresh as well as safe.

The eyeport of the AGV Horizon provides excellent horizontal and vertical visibility through the anti-fog, anti-scratch, and uv-resistant shield. This area is also home to the drop down internal sunvisor. The visor is fully retractable and easily rotates up into the shell when not needed. It is simple to adjust the visor using the switch behind the left shield basplate, even with a gloved hand. One feature that is unique to the Horizon and its sibling, the Skyline, is the PVM (Personalized Visor Mechanism). Each helmet comes with three color coded ratcheting pieces for the shield’s baseplates that allow you to customize the way that it operates. The helmet comes with the touring piece installed, which lets the visor lock open or closed, and has intermediate “soft” teeth in between. The first optional piece is what we consider to be the most useful, and is called the urban setting. It allows the shield to be locked in intermediate positions like being cracked slightly open. The second optional piece is called race and only locks the shield fully open or closed.

AGV produces the Horizon in a variety of color options, all of which can be viewed on our website, RidersDiscount.com. They include solid colors and two graphics called Racer and Absolute.
