bandit12
Are there any markings on a title to tell you that you are looking at a salvaged bike?I had two bikes that were rebuilt and inspected but can't remember if there was any difference in the titles of them and a standard title. TRMN8TR
Absolutely. It will clearly say salvage title on it usually near the top and a lot of the times they will put it in the area where any liens would be. A rebuilt one will say rebuilt salvage and can be registered and plated.
bandit12
Thanks, I couldn't remember but I was thinking maybe it said "Salvage" at the end of the serial number. The last one I did was in '99 or '00 so I was drawing a blank.
ReconRat
You can also look that title up somewhere on the Ohio bmv website. If that turns out to say salvage, there's a process to claim some cash back if it was missing from the title. Not real clear on the amount, but thinking 500 bucks back was common. bandit12
Someone I know was looking at a bike and we were wondering if it was a salvage bike and the seller wasn't telling him. One of those "not the right colors" and "too god of a price" things.
