RidersDiscount
Valentino Rossi traditionally brings a custom helmet to his home race of Misano, and the 2012 round was no different. AGV has released this helmet, dubbed the Boxer, as a limited edition for the GP-Tech. The Aldo Drudi design depicts Rossi, who was nearing the end of his run aboard the Ducati at the time, as a boxer that is on the ropes, yet still optimistic. Despite the bruises, bandages and a black eye, he is still seen asking the question “Come vado?” (How am I doing?). The back of the helmet shows his two ever-present bulldogs, Cesare and Cecilia, in boxing gloves and sporting a black eye each. His Sun & Moon logo is also found on the back, with Marco Simoncelli’s number next to it as a tribute to his late friend. The AGV GP-Tech Rossi Boxer helmet is limited to just 1500 worldwide, but we also have plenty of other Rossi helmets available if there's another one that you're looking for. If you're interested, just give Nathan a call at 866.931.6644 ext. 809 or send him a message through the forum and he can help you. Is email more convenient? Feel free send one to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM and we’ll get back to you right away! Rossi is seen asking “Come vado?” - meaning “How am I doing?” Like on most of his special helmet designs, Rossi’s bulldogs make an appearance. The pair are depicted with black eyes and boxing gloves. The design also features Marco Simoncelli’s number as a tribute to the fallen rider. Each helmet is an individually numbered and the release is limited to just 1500 worldwide. RidersDiscount
Valentino Rossi likely felt sentiments similar to those shown on this helmet after a racing incident between Alvaro Bautista and himself took the pair out of the running during the first lap of the 2013 Italian Grand Prix at Mugello. While the incident was unfortunate, both riders were luckily able walk away uninjured after hitting a wall that was protected only by hay bales and tires, instead of the much safer air fence one would expect at a modern MotoGP event. It will be interesting to see if Rossi can bounce back off of the ropes like the cartoon boxer on this special edition AGV helmet when he gets his chance this coming weekend at the Catalunya Grand Prix. RidersDiscount
This weekend’s MotoGP race at Assen was a great one for many reasons, any of which would have singlehandedly made for an exciting race. Jorge Lorenzo’s incredible return to not only compete, but to take fifth place after breaking his collarbone less than two days prior; the excellent battle between Marc Marquez and Cal Crutchlow for second; and, of course, Valentino Rossi’s return to the top step of the podium. While Lorenzo’s feat may have arguably been the most impressive, the legions of fans sporting yellow VR46 gear at the track and the millions more that watched everything play out from living rooms across the globe are more than happy to keep their focus on Rossi’s first win since the Malaysian Grand Prix back in October of 2010. If you’re in the market for the limited edition Rossi “Boxer” version of the AGV GP-Tech that we have showcased here, or any other AGV helmet, you can contact Nathan by calling 866.931.6644 ext. 809 or by sending him a message through this forum. We’re also happy to answer your emails, so feel free to send those to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM and you can expect a quick reply!
