RidersDiscount
There are plenty of riding suits out there that are called “entry level,” but with prices on leather gear constantly climbing, it is becoming harder to find suits that have actual entry level price tags. That is where the Speed & Strength Triple Crown comes in. It is designed for those that may want to get started at the track, or just want the extra protection of a full suit for the road, but don’t have a MotoGP racer’s budget. The Speed & Strength Triple Crown suit is made from premium cowhide that varies in thickness from 1.0mm to 1.2mm. This makes it about .2mm thinner than the Twist of Fate 2.0, which is the next model up, but it is perfect for this type of suit. It makes the entire package lighter and more flexible without giving up too much in terms of abrasion resistance. This leather outer layer is held together with Speed & Strength’s High Impact Safety Seams, or H.I.S.S. for short. While the outer leather shell provides the first line of defense during a slide, there is also a full array of C.E. certified Vault armor that was put in place underneath in order to provide impact protection for sensitive areas like the shoulders, knees, elbows and back. Vault armor is quite flexible and is capable of absorbing a great deal of impact energy in the event that it is needed. The Speed & Strength Triple Crown’s leather outer layer is already quite flexible, but it is not the only reason that this suit is as comfortable as it is. Schoeller Keprotec stretch material is found in the armpits, crotch and running down all four limbs to the cuffs. If you are unfamiliar, Schoeller Keprotec is a lightweight, soft stretch material that is highly abrasion resistant thanks to the Kevlar that goes into producing it. In addition to the high level of mobility, the Triple Crown is also a well ventilated suit. Cooling is provided by the vented back hump and a variety of strategically placed perforations throughout the chest, arms, legs, and back. Another standout comfort feature is essentially the entire design of the ankle cuffs. The bottom portion that slips into the boot not only uses the Schoeller Keprotec mentioned previously, but also a soft 3D mesh. This means that the suit actually helps your boots keep your feet cool. Whether you’re looking to get started at the track, want more protection for the street, or just want a suit that will fit into your budget, we recommend taking a good look at the sub-$600 Speed & Strength Triple Crown. It is not only priced well and well armored, but is also more comfortable than many suits that cost substantially more.
