Registration starts January 7th.

Any cyclists interested in putting an OR peloton together for Pelotonia?

Also, hoping to get info sooner this year for those of you who want to be motorcycle escorts. I already emailed them. Hoping to get the ball rolling much sooner this year.

And anyone interested in putting together a cheer spot? Maybe get signs cheering on the riders and thanking them? Maybe have water to hand out or something?

I don't know a whole lot about it but interested. I assume there are different distances you can sign up for. If so which do you plan on? Also I would expect that you would want help with the fund raising. I guess I could hit thier site but if you have some cliff notes or some more details that would be great.

Edit: I would be riding.

I can only speak of what I saw last year.

They had finish distances of 25, 50, 100. I'm thinking there is one more, but can't be positive.

Most of the folks I saw last year did the 25mi.

If I have the weekend off, I'll ride escort again. It was a long day. But worth it.

I believe there's 25, 50, 75, 100, and 180. Last year Carie and I did the 50. I was originally planning to do the 100, but Carie decided to do it also and we wanted to ride together. I think this year we're both going to do the 100. Each rider has an amount they must raise depending on the distance. 50 is $1250 I believe. When you sign up, you promise to raise that much or pay the difference yourself. Last year I raised over $4000, and Carie raised $2000. The site is under construction at the moment as they prepare for 2014 registration. There will be a lot more info up soon.

There a minimum ammount we would have to raise?

If you ride, yes. If you do the "virtual rider" no. The minimum amount is different per ride length. I believe for 50 mile it is $1250. It's a lot easier than it sounds. Lots of really good people in this state who like to support cancer research.

No, I meant as a peloton for OR. If that is something we as OR would choose to do, would there be a specific ammount that we would need to raise as a peloton?

I doubt I would ever ride. But I will volunteer and raise money for the cause. Riding escort was actually kinda fun last year. Even though it was pretty slow paced.

wonder if john is leading again this year?

I think it would be stellar if the escorts had extra water, food, medical and bike repair kits this year.

Tubes would be freakin swell. There were so many flats last year on High street.

I didn't have a single tube to be able to change out. Might have to make a couple of purchases this year before the ride.

I stopped at a gas station and picked up a bunch of water to hand out to people when they were getting tired at the end.  Really came in handy.

One girl said she needed some bread or something... she said she was allergic to all the food at the food stop or something like that.

Something to keep in mind this year.
