The class represents the data transfer speed of the card. This is important to make sure the card can "keep up" with the data being fed to it from the camera. If not filming 1080p, you might get away with a lesser classed card but it's better to hedge your bets and get a class 10 in case you decide to use 1080 or upgrade your camera. I recommend Kingston or SanDisk brands from reputable dealers. There are A LOT OF FAKES out there, especially on ebay, I had a long discussion with Kingston about this last year at CES and they say the problem of counterfeits is huge and the only way to make sure you are getting authentic hardware is through authorized resellers. The fakes do not have the same performance standards.

Yes run a class ten card and as many 16 gig cards as you can get your hands on. Corrupted data will piss you off. Hence using more and smaller cards so you may only miss 1/2 of a vid and not the whole thing.
