Hoblick
the Can Am Commanders and Mavericks have an issue with over heating when the radiator gets packed with mud or dirt, every time i have taken the thing out for a weekend ride by the end of the trip my machine would over heat from all the mud packed in the radiator. this has been driving me crazy since i got it. I will constantly be watching the temp gauge, and fearing it will over heat and go into limp mode at a bad spot. this happened once climbing a hill to get out of the bottoms of a trail. only way out. it kicked into limp mode right near the top, thankfully i was carrying enough speed to clear the hill. so my options were order a $750 aftermarket radiator or spend $450 on a Radiator relocation kit. well i was gonna order the radiator relocation kit, but the company never picked the phone up, or returned my calls after a week of trying. so i just built my own bracket for the radiator, powder coated it, got it mounted and hung, and went and got all the other materials, radiator hose, clamps, miscellaneous hardware and such to do everything myself. still have to make a grille and shrouds yet, but i ran out of time and didn't have the materials on hand to do it anyway. but ill complete that before i take it out for a good thrashing. tested it out around my property and it works pretty damn good. and in the winter i can reverse the polarity of the fan and push the hot air into the seating area to keep me warm. im also gonna build and install a fan override switch so i can run the fan constantly in hotter weather.
redkow97
Who designs an off-road vehicle without this in mind??? Looks good - just surprised Can Am didn't do it from teh factory... Does it completely kill rearward visibility, or is that not so much an issue?
