RidersDiscount
When it comes to dual sport/adventure touring helmets, Arai nailed it with the XD-4 Flare. It's comfortable, protective, and versatile for a variety of different riding situations. The ventilation system built into the XD-4 is an improvement upon its predecessor, the XD-3. It has two additional intake ports on the chin vent piece, as well as larger tabs that are easier to adjust with motorcycle gloves. The brow vents direct air to the forehead while the exhaust ports in the rear diffusers are are designed to expel hot air. The interior has multi-density foam cheek pads for added comfort. Additionally, both the cheek and the comfort liner have 5mm peel away pads for a custom fit. The interior of the XD-4 is completely removable, washable, and replaceable. An Emergency Cheek Pad Release System built into the cheek pads allows medical personnel to safely remove the helmet without causing additional strain on an injured rider. Top diffuser vent ports and larger side cowl vents work together to make the XD-4 more aerodynamic and stable than the XD-3. The visor on this dual sport helmet is removable to accommodate a variety of riding styles. MSRP $729.95 The orange flare version features a white and black gloss graphic mixed with pearlescent orange and gray. The XD-4 helmet is designed for an intermediate oval head shape, and is both Snell and D.O.T. certified.
