CJINOHIO03
To give you a history the car has new battery and cable ends and newer starter. The car wouldnt start the other day I messed with the connector on the battery and it started. It sat for a few more days and is totally dead except the headlights work. Nothing works on the inside of the car etc. The battery is fine. I checked all fuses on the inside of the car and under the hood and they look ok. I am not sure what my next move would/should be. Someone mentioned fusible link but I am not sure where it would be located at or if the car has one or not. I have a factory wiring diagrahm but that doesnt help much. CJ [ 17. Alex1647545498
Could go to the libary to see if you can find a repair manual. There could be one off the battery wires, alternator wires and also starter wires. I'd check to see which ones you have so you can check of them. Buckeye1647545503
you said the bat is "Ok" why do you know this? Have you used a meter to check voltage? Have you made sure that the termenals are tight and that there is not a drain and the battery is now dead
CJINOHIO03
I had the battery checked and charged to be safe. I found the main 100 amp fusible link under the hood is bad. I replaced it but it keeps blowiing. It is arching from the negative battery cable do when I connected it. So I am guess the wiring is toast some where. Whats my next step? I dont see anything melted? CJ
Alex1647545498
Tracing wiring problems is a b*tch. You'd pretty much have to do it one at a time.
Dave1647545494
pull the starter and have it tested. if it tests good replace the positive battery cable.
CJINOHIO03
well replaced the wire from the battery to starter and reaplaced the 100 amp fusible link. The fusible link did not pop this time but the starter is not turning over either. Although the lights inside the car and other stuff is working now. Radio and windshield wipers arent working. So I am guessing the ground and the other wires to the starter are bad and/or the ground wires to the batter are bad.. Any ideas anybody?
