ohio_wookie Posted May 31, 2004 Report Share Posted May 31, 2004 wont accelerate and wont idle, engine clicks/ticks(sparatic, and loud, unlike valve tapping) when throttling sound goes away. and timing belt is shreaded on the side of away from motor. i orginaly thought it might be fuel related but then i took the timing belt cover off and pulled out shreads of belt from under cover. didnt get a good look at everything so i didnt see if somthing is awry. just wondering if someone knows why this would be happening. Alex1647545498 Posted May 31, 2004 Report Share Posted May 31, 2004 It could be that the belt is old. How many miles does it have? Does it look like the original belt? The noises could be caused due to the timming jumped therefor the cam(s) were out of time. The 2 has non-interference engines. There should be no damage to your engine if the timming jumped.
