still2hi
i have a 96 beretta and i cannot firgure out what is wrong. it is hard to start, it idols ruff and you can smell gas (pretty bad). ive never had this problem before and i have no fuel leaks that i can find. i have changed the fuel injectors, spark plugs, coils, wires, map sensor, throttle position sensor, cleaned out the egr valve and checked for vacuum leaks. i did hydro lock the motor when i changed the fuel injectors b/c i forgot an o-ring. i did pull all the rods out and they looked fine. i have no idea and have tried everything i can think of. i did change out the fuel injectors with some that i pulled off at a junk yard. i cant see spending alot of money on them. el aguila
A bad coolant temp sensor can make the car not go into closed loop.
Dave1647545494
its dumping fuel. if the temp sensor is bad the motor will think its really cold out and go nuts. most gm's don't throw a code for it though. I recomended changin the plugs cuase they are prolly fouled now if its been bad for awhile change the oil too its prolly also fuel fouled. I called temp sensor mostly cuase I've had the same problem with three cars recently and it was the temp sensor everytime
still2hi
thanks. i looked over it again and found that the number 3 fuel injector was leaking b/c of a torn o-ring. i replaced the o-ring and now its idling ruff again. its just problems after problems. im going to have it tested and see what it says now and ill change the temp sensor. thanks for your help.
