Guest doggunracing
Car runs great until it is really hot from idling or slow driving (underhood temp, water temp is fine). It then starts to stumble and I can smell gas from the exhaust. I already changed the plugs, but this is definitely just from high underhood temps. I'm thinking either bad plug wires or coil. What is most likely to have problems with the heat?
302Powered
Have you changed the cap and rotor lately? I just had the same problem after swaping in Alex's old motor.
Dave1647545494
doea honda use a pickup coil or module sometimes when they start to go bad the car will run fine till its warm and then run very poorly
lord_tris
i just had that same prob with my 240sx it was the coil the whole time. you said it runs fine till it reachs the running temps right. change the coil and wires. and what made my journey even worse is when my uncle hooked up his snap-on scanner the car was reading no faults so another mechcanic said the coil tried and now the 240 is running much much much better smile.gif
Guest doggunracing
I changed the coil, and it still does the same thing, runs fine until hot, then spark cut. I've already changed the plugs, rotor and cap. I guess I'll try the wires next.
