MAF Voltage

Anyone know what the voltage range for the MAF on a 98 GTP should be?

Mine starts around .6 at idle/ light cruise, then goes up steadily from there.

I am getting MAF Low Voltage codes about once every 50 miles. SES light is triggered each time. Clear the codes, and it's good for about a day.

Going to pull it off, inspect it, clean it, and reinstall tonight. Wiring looks good.

thanks!

He doesn't answer the damned thing anyways. tongue.gif

Found my answer. I found out that my scanner also provides detailed descriptions of every code, and many possible causes.

The most likely causes of that code are:

- poor wiring

- failed MAF sensor

- bad PCV valve (who would have guessed)

- bad ground

- blocked intake ducting

...

Removed the PCV (which is a crazy looking one on this motor BTW), and cleaned a ton of shit out of it and reinstalled. Drove ~20 miles, no light. Also, removed MAF and scraped the contacts up.

We'll see how she does tomorrow.

Check your air filter also if you haven't, this will cause a MAF code as well if it's decently dirty. If the light comes on again replace that PCV valve. If that doesn't work, do like it said and check the wires (maybe rubbing through)/grounds, if all looks good then it needs the MAF sensor.

You might have it fixed though smile.gif

Thnx for the reply.

Air filter replaced the day I bought it.

PCV valve is sitting at dad's shop, putting in Saturday.

Wires all look fine, all connections spotless now.

I hope it's fixed smile.gif Stayed off all day today, knock on wood.
