CJINOHIO03
yes 94-95 special bell housings heard they are hard to find.. check out corral or ebay for parts.. I am not sure of your computer though u might need a new ecu. CJ
88lx5oh
no actually if you chagne the ecu getting codes off the car becomes harder. stay with stock auto ecu and youll be just fine.
Guest GSRchick714
I was looking at a car about a year ago but it was an automatic and I wanted 5spd. so I looked into getting it converted and to get it done at a shop the price ranged from $1200-$2000
88lx5oh
depending on what the car is prices differe vastly. to me a mustang tranny swap is pretty simple. i got all my parts for around $1000 and did the swap wiht myself and another buddy. gt-titan
good info im going to get a few things at a time and do this , im not sure what's up with the auto tranny im being told it might be miner so will see, where is a good place to find a pedal cluster? and what years will work? thanks. 88lx5oh
im not sure what years will work i would jsut get a 94,95 setup. try ebay for them or if your lucky a junk yard. adn the brake pedal comes out of yours and a clutch and brake assembly will replace it. i also forgot you have to get a clutch cable lol
Razorback
If you're already going to go through the labor of a tranny swap, you may want to atleast look into a 6-speed. Much more expensive but worth it
BlackC50
so...d&d's kits have everything you need in them to get the job done cause I am wanting to do the same on my 86 GT.
gt-titan
where do you find the d&d kits? and how pricie are they?
martindc1
Before you swap to the T-5 be absolutely sure what it is you are getting because of subtle differences. For example a 94-95 Cobra input shaft is some thing like 5/8" shorter so make sure of all your parts. I posted a link to D&D above and they are experts of everything. There is a section on the site that explains the differences as well. Also don't forget to get the right speedo gear with your rear gear combo. I have a brothers performance speed calibrator but I am not sure if that will work for the 94-95. It is a straight forward job after you get the parts though (from what I have read from countless people).
martindc1
Also I have seen D&D auto to various manual transmission kits (including T5) advertised but I didn't see it with a quick look on their site but if you gave them a call I am sure they could point you in the right direction. gt-titan
ok cool , thanks for the info . i put a speedo gear in for the auto , ill have to change it again when i switch to a standerd?
BlackC50
What all do you get in the D&D kits? Is it just the transmission or everything you need to do a auto to 5spd swap?
stolen 5.0
d&d kits are way expensive pedal assembly is easy in sn95 cars, took me 5 minutes when i did it in a 97 gt. and you will have to find a 94-95 bellhousing and tranny, input shafts on the 94-95 are longer than a fox. u don't have to get a tranny harness, u can splice 2 wires together to trick the neutral safety switch also
