Conesmasher
So, buddies got a 92 olds cutlass sierra. Has a 3.3 V6 with only 49k miles. Had some tranny probs, it wouldn't shift out of 2nd gear on the auto tranny. So this weekend he(we) replaced it, with one from the junkyard. .......And the same problem still occurs??? Could it be a sensor or something to that nature. Anyone else ever have the same types of problems with a similar model GM vehicle?
cinergi
Perhaps the modulator is bad?

I am pretty much up to any solution that could possibly be the problem, since the tranny has already been replace, nothihng much left to do besides start replacing. nurkvinny
There is a speed sensor on top of the tranny; did he replace it or use the old one on the new tranny?
Guest ElCaballero81
it could be the cable that controls the shift aka the kick down cable or it could the computer itself that controls the tranny.
