Guest nevarmore
Topic just about sums it up. I'm looking for a 5 speed that will bolt up to my 3.8L h-body. As far as I know the h-bodies (park ave, lesabre, FWD T-Types, Regal, etc) did not have that as an option. Anyone know if there is a donor car to look for? OGRE
I'm 99% sure there has never been a stick for a fwd 3.8L. I can't think of a factory 3.8L stick car ever. I don't think buick, olds, pontiac has had a stick car (besides firebird & maybe suunfire/sunbird 4-cyl.) since before teh 3.8L was introduced. Total Sign
Joel, Firebirds do have 3800/5spd, but they are RWD. I wonder how a Cavalier 5spd will handle the added torque of a 3.8?

Got any reference sites on the cavvy trans? Input shafts, bellhousings (or FWD equivalent), etc..
Mallard
You can use the tranny out of a manual Fiero. When guys swap 3800's into fieros they use the stock tranny (unless they go with the stock auto) so it COULD work.

Skinner
I've seen gen 2 cavaliers witha 5sp that have don a 3.8sc swap. but im not sure of what was modified to make it mount to the tranny thou. Do a search on j-jody.org there at least a couple cars on there that have done it.
