Topic just about sums it up.

I'm looking for a 5 speed that will bolt up to my 3.8L h-body. As far as I know the h-bodies (park ave, lesabre, FWD T-Types, Regal, etc) did not have that as an option. Anyone know if there is a donor car to look for?

I'm 99% sure there has never been a stick for a fwd 3.8L. I can't think of a factory 3.8L stick car ever. I don't think buick, olds, pontiac has had a stick car (besides firebird & maybe suunfire/sunbird 4-cyl.) since before teh 3.8L was introduced.

I wonder how a Cavalier 5spd will handle the added torque of a 3.8?

I thought they did, wasn't sure. I didn't know when they went from 3.4l to 3.8l in base model.

Probably better than the 3.8 trans takes tourque from a 3.8. Its not weak, but its not known to be outlandishly strong either.

Got any reference sites on the cavvy trans? Input shafts, bellhousings (or FWD equivalent), etc..

Fieros have transverse drivelines??
