SamZman
I know there are a few VW guys on here that may have some advice. A friend of a friend has been asking me about which bolt ons he should try first to add a little power to his car.. Here's the e-mail he sent me.. He just wants the basic cold air, chip, etc..Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated... smile.gif Here's the links that have the parts I was referring to. Look at the ECU Chip and the Cold Air Intake Kit http://www.neuspeed.com/products/product_list.asp?app=26|G3&type=11<ype=ns_euro This one part below is compatible for my model (1992-2002 http://www.nopionline.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=dsplargepic&vpic=LWeaponRHyperIntake.jpg At this page below, this is the part that I want, but they don't make it for my 1998, but they have it for 2002. I don't understand why they don't have it for mine since they have the same engine. 2.0 8V (The Cold Air Intake) http://www.neuspeed.com/products/product_details.asp?app=31|G4&type=11<ype=ns_euro&p_id=1725 Can you help me figure out which one is the best one to get for my car(1998)? Guest badmuthrfkr
If he has a 1.8T motor, the chip is a must do. It's basically a boost upgrade and fuel controller all in one little package.

Guest powers
well sounds like he has a 2.0 MKIII I would save my money and buy the right bolt on's like this. EIP Or if that is a little much this place has another option Autotech And if all else fails Go here ttt If he does the intake, chip, and exhaust the most he should be looking at is 135Hp at the flywheel If it were me I would do the first option
Guest mudbutt
ATP www.8vturbo.com has a turbo for the 2.0 8v cars as well as most other VW/Audi applications. Friendly and helpful tech support.

He knows VERY little about cars and is just looking to add a little kick. I knew I'd get some of the "go turbo!" posts ,but I can't imagine him going that route.. I'll see though.. But that's what I'm mainly wondering if there is any difference in different cold air/exhaust kits.. and if chips are worth it on a N/A car.. Thanks for the help smile.gif -Sam
Guest fastdriver
a 2.0 8v would really not be a good platform to build up NA the NA 18 is a better choice but If you going to keep with the 2.0 Eather get SC kit or Spray it . Intake Exhuast chip cams wont do much for you still will get spanked from dig by Honda Si's
