Guest sphen02 Posted August 23, 2002 Report Share Posted August 23, 2002 aight sometimes when im just kinda cruising around after ill put it in 4th gear...it will sometimes...just kinda pop out...its the weirdest thing...it scared the shit out of the first time heh...cus im drivin and all of a sudden my rpms just flew up hehe..and i heard this rattling...and i looked down and my shifter was just kinda vibrating and i figured it was out of gear or something..put it back in thought nothing of it...its happened like 5 times? something like that its not common....just kinda curious as to what causes it. Guest DarkSVT Posted August 23, 2002 Report Share Posted August 23, 2002 Sounds like your synchronizer is going bad. I had the same problem. In my worldclass tranny, a synchronizer sleeve broke. The good thing is that it was only 45 cents, the bad thing is it took 2 weeks to get and kinda a pain in the ass to take the trans apart. I am far from an expert on tranny's, but If I was you. I would find a transmission shop you trust and have them take a look. I don't know of any, but I don't trust anybody working on my car either. Guest Computerguy5 Posted August 23, 2002 Report Share Posted August 23, 2002 I knew someone who was having the same problem with one of his cars... turns out he hadn't properly adjusted his shifter cables...
