Guest slarock856
Is it possible to have gaskets custom made? If so are they any shops in the Columbus area that do this?
Guest doggunracing
You can just make your own gaskets. Autozone (and the like) sell gasket material from which you can trace and cut your own custom gasket. Unless you're talking about a metal gasket. slow4now
If you just need a paperish type gasket, I recommend using the MSD gasket material over the Autozone stuff.
Guest slarock856
What I need to make is a valve cover gasket. The aftermarket covers I got are slightly different than the stock ones. The original type gaskets and ones I got from AutoZone just don't wanna work with the new covers. I'll pick up some material and see what I can do. Guest nevarmore
For valve covers some RTV sealant will work in place of a gasket. They arent under pressure, they're just there to keep oil from getting out and gunk getting into the valvetrain.
Guest slarock856
I had thought about RTV, but I might have the covers off again soon. I've been thinking about getting roller rockers. If I do I really don't want to be scrapping the RTV off. I'm going to try and make my own with the gasket stuff I got from advance. I'll probably go with RTV if I can't make one.
