I found that the stoplight switch by the break pedal was toast so I replaced it, but one day later the new one has now burned out. What could be causing this? Dave1647545494 Posted July 9, 2003 Report Share Posted July 9, 2003 you may have a bad ground somewhere causing an unusually high amount of current to go through the switch, or you just got a bad one I'd warranty the switch out replace it again and see if it burns up in one day. Thanks for the thought tho. Umm if you got the part new from any parts store or dealer it is warrantied for a little while. Take it back to the place you bought it and get another one. I asked them about it before I bought it and they told me that they don't warranty electrical parts, so if I bought it, I couldn't bring it back.
