Guest nevarmore
Hey i think i may have found the cause of that wierd electrical short i had. The cover (?? black plastic shield ) was off the clutch and the clutch was flopping about. I got a new belt for the car so the compressor isn't spinning around anymore, the damage to it has already been done, but its loud as hell. Two questions: 1) Would such a failure of the A/C clutch cause an intermittent electrical short? Wether the A/C is on or not? I think so, but would like another opinion. 2) What is the procedure for replacing the A/C clutch? A new clutch is about $30 and a new compressor is $200. I'd like to replace the clutch in the car if possible, pulling the whole compressor is a bitch.
Dave1647545494
you can buy a clutch removal tool or rent it from autozone its pretty easy to change the clutch.
