I tagged my garage pulling in the evening after pics 1 & 2 and didn't even know it until the next morning when I was airing up the race tires and about flipped. But it turned out ok, I was able to clay bar it all off. One can notice the paint is a little dull by looking close, but it won't be hard to polish out when I get a chance. martindc1 Posted August 4, 2005 Author Report Share Posted August 4, 2005 Yes stock suspension. The shocks and struts are pretty much worn out too. This winter I am going to put some heavier springs, shocks/struts, castor-camber plates, and probably some stiffer anti-roll bars to increase the roll stiffness. The car has excessive body roll and understeer so hopefully I can address those issues. The car also tends to get un-settled in fast transition situations like slaloms so I have to tone it down even though it feels like there is plenty of traction left in the tires. Pic #2 is my favorite but you can see that I also hit a cone. The biggest problem with the cones I have had is that I just switched to using race tires and the turn-in is so much quicker that I had trouble hitting cones on slaloms and such. martindc1 Posted August 4, 2005 Author Report Share Posted August 4, 2005 Cool. Next event is August 21, then nearly every sunday in September and October. Have you gotten a welder yet? I have decided which class I am going to run so the springs, struts/shocks, etc. are all top priority but eventually I am going to put subframe connectors on it. The only ones allowed in my class are from a Ford TSB so they have to be put on according to it. I don't know if I am going to put them on for next season or the following though. I took a little bit of Mother's polish and tested it on a couple of them and they will definitely clean up. The car looks sweet with them on there, so I have considered using them as my street wheels and use the CR classifieds to find a set of 245s but we will see. I had Wheel Medic fix the crack and straighten another one, they did some good work. I am glad I got them, I always liked the 98s. Another plus is that they weigh like 21.5 pounds which is one of the lightest OE wheels that Mustangs came with. Right now I drive to events with one in the trunk and 3 in the backseat, but its not uncomfortable. Fowler, who makes the qa1's? Edit: Jason the cone in that picture got off easy. I hit one later that day that flew like 50 feet! I wasn't used to the turn-in with the sticky tires and I coned somewhere around 7 out of 9 runs that weekend.
