grease monkey
So I have an older Xbox. And it's not easy for me to play the games anymore. I'm constantly getting the "dirty or damaged disk" screen. I was wondering if anyone else has ever had this problem, and how if at all it got resolved. Would cleaning the lens possiably have an effect on it? It's never been cleaned or opened, and i've had it since 02 when I graduated High School. Does anyone know how to clean it??? thorne
Well. its possible to replace the cdrom drive in it with a Thompsons Certinmodel or you can ebay replacement drive. The other way would be to run a audio cleaning disc threw it. and while your at it gamedoctor your disks.
ohio_wookie
http://www.xbox-scene.com if theres nothing on there you can either upgrade your diskdrive, or go to diveno (theres a link on the site above in the shops section) and they sell repair parts for xbox and ps2s, including drives and lasers. i hope that helps. supldys
My ps2 did that more and more after a few years. I took it apart and cleaned everything, worked 200x better after that. My xbox hasnt had any trouble yet though
