Heater cores ... fuckin eh

Does anyone have any tricks or tips about switching out the Heater core in a 93 Celica ST. I've got it bypassed now, but that'll be no fun once it gets colder. It's labeled as a 12 hour job by Toyota. And where as I thought I'd just have them do it, I can come up with a better way to spend $1,100.

Figured I'd ask before I got into it, thanks!

Haynes manuals for the car are worthless (I work at Autozone, that was the first place I checked when I heard '12 hours' I thought there's no fuckin' way.) I have a '93, and it shows and explains like '87 or something. And you do need to take out the instrument panel. Tomorrow is my first day off in awhile, I'm gonna mess around with it for a bit. If I get pissed off enough or tired of dicking around with it, I just might look ya up gearhead, so don't be surprised.

Didn't you go to Wyotech? If you are mechanically inclined at all you should be able to do it. Just start taking the dash out and it should be pretty self explanatory.
