thorne
I've got a 1981 Seca 750 It needs Starter Clutch / rear shocks / valves adjusted it has 44k on the odo. Should i repair it or sell it for 650 and add 500$ to that and buy something else?
Got-Boost?
What are your goals on a motorcycle?

Got-Boost?
I would think the repairs on that model would be more than it is worth. IMO, I would get something newer but if you aren't looking to spend much, it may be worth fixing for you. Is that plenty of power for you and your passenger? It may be a good time to upgrade if that is your desire....
thorne
The power is boarderline. I mean i enjoy it but I've ridden much faster bikes and had more spiritied enjoyment out of them. But i don't know what i could afford for 1500$ (Assuming i can sell this bike for 500$)
street pilot
Fix it, then decide whether or not to keep it. Shouldnt cost you much in repairs, and you will be able to sell it for more once its fixed anyway.
Got-Boost?
Uh...a $500 bike is still a $500 bike even if you put $800-1000 in repairs towards it.

That said, a bike that starts will be worth $500, but one that won't, won't.
Got-Boost?
You are right but considering his question, I would think he isn't doing the wrenching so..... $500 in parts and 4/5-hours of labor at $60 an hour can get to $800+ very quickly if he isn't careful.
