Do you have any mods?

If you're not looking to throw a shitload of timing at it, or not experiencing a ton of knock retard, race fuel won't help you. If you do decide to run 100 or better, use unleaded or you will be replacing your O2 sensors very soon.

Thanks I might need to stop by and get a can of it. how long will that last in a can?

Race gas stored in a cool metal sealed container will store fine for several months 6-12 without concern. Fuels are very sensitive to sunlight and heat, thus why you should not use plastic containers to store your fuel.

Two things..I've read that oxygen(air) affects the octane rating of gas, and that if you are going to store it you should fill the container as full as possible with little or no air in the container. Anyone know how true this is?

Second, I run mid 12's n/a on 93 pump gas..iron heads, carb, 11:1 sbc. Can anyone here relate before and after performance gains they had with a similar "old school" no computer setup? Wondering if I would be wasting my time, if I could see a couple tenths it would probably be worth the trouble and the cost.

the majority of the power you would experience from race gas would be from the amount of timing advance you could add into the car on the race gas.

11-1 on 93 with iron heads  you must have the timing way back or get alot of spark knock.....i run 94 min with 35 deg total timing it knocks if i run 93...i have Alum heads----11-1/4-1

I'm running 10 deg initial and 36 total. 11.1:1 Dart Iron eagle heads. This is my daily driver. I run 89 octane in it except at the track. The 12 sec times were done on Kroger(Marathon I think) 93 octane with no additives. I see absolutely no spark knock and no sign of detonation whatsoever. Referencing the chart they posted in Hot Rod, my 12.50@110 should be 12 flat once I get the traction and chassis bugs worked out of the car. The best 60' I've gotten out of it is 1.853 in Nittos. I've picked up a set of Hoosier slicks to try this year.
