yellowsnake Posted June 12, 2006 Report Share Posted June 12, 2006 its a 97 chevy 1500. i noticed some antifreeze leaking while it was siting and not running. it looks to be comeing from around the balancer maybe just below the water pump. any ideas if it might be the water pump or what? Guest Removed Posted June 13, 2006 Report Share Posted June 13, 2006 yes , if the radiator cap is good and holding pressure in the system, and it was bad(i fix them all the time) it would be leaking! these plastic intake gaskets in all the newer GM's always seem to leak! The pot metal fitting, are you refering to the POS that the heater line plugs into? If so, plan on getting a new water pump when you go to replace it, the pot metal snaps off, and the threads are coroded in place. 3 of them so far, all 3 the same thing.
