Terms of Employment: Full-Time Job Description: Plans, implements, and manages campus application and web servers. Provides technical support for Windows server operations. Installs and configures operating systems, upgrades resources, applies service packs, and configures and monitors performance. Assesses and implements security policies. Analyzes and resolves network-related issues. Supports staff, faculty and users by providing training, maintaining user accounts and computer resources, and providing general instruction for network support. Tests, evaluates and recommends purchases. Assists with capital equipment by determining end user needs and requests. Works with third party software vendors to implement and support departmental applications and utilities. Minimum Qualifications: Must have a High School Degree or GED with technical or vocational computer training and 1 to 3 years progressively responsible network operating systems experience. Must have knowledge of computer software and hardware installation and repair; PC and server installation; network connectivity installation and management; mainframe systems; computer programming concepts; Novell services and operations; network operating systems; computer software, programs and applications. Must be able to work independently demonstrating initiative and have the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, supervisors, job contacts and the general public. Must be able to analyze complex computer problems, troubleshoot and draw valid conclusions. Must have knowledge of and experience with TCP/IP, LDAP, IIS, DNS, DHCP and internet technologies including streaming media. Must have strong written documentation skills. Preferred Qualifications: MCSE. 3 to 5 years systems administration experience in a medium-large mission critical server environment. SAN, TSM, VMWare, AD and SQL experience.
