xTHExBOSSx46 Posted October 20, 2006 Report Share Posted October 20, 2006 i personally wouldnt install it on anything less than a 500mhz processor with 512 ram if u want it to run well. u can do it with 128 or 256 but for me it dogs out a lot cause xp itself is a dog for using so much mem. street pilot Posted October 20, 2006 Report Share Posted October 20, 2006 Yeah that is a bit low. 128mb is the absolute minimum I would run it on. Put 2000 pro on it with IE6 and it should cruise. Then again, that is a newer laptop, right? Should be able to pick up a 256mb stick of ram from ebay for about $30, that would do the trick since you already have the software installed. Honestly though that shouldnt cause it to "lock up," just run extrememly slow. Can you get to the task manager to check what process is taxing your CPU when it locks up?
