When rechroming aluminum wheels, the chrome and the nickel is stripped, then the copper is polished with a hand or bench polisher. This is a issue because wheels with a lot of spokes and angles are more difficult to polish. I learned this the hard way, I paid $600 to have a set of lexani whees replated a few years ago. Down in the corners of the spokes, you could see scratches underneth the nickel. Customer would not accept them, I ended up eating the job. If the wheels in question are the wheels on your GTP, it's a wasted effort. BTW, you don't get any kind of warranty on replating. Chrome is going by the wayside, however. With the advancments made in powder coating and metal deposition... you can produce a chrome like finish that will last many, many years. Everybody and their brother had alternative chrome finish at sema.
