thorne
My buddies stratus the other night brought on the battery light, Now when he drives it wants to die , His description to me sounded like losing spark. His blinkers also stopped working. I was going to pull the battery and alt tonight and take them over to autozone to get tested. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreicated. Guest Removed
if the alt isnt charging, some things arent going too work. and it wont run right either do to the fact theres not enough juice too keep everything going.
craig71188
We see a lot of this - if battery voltage is below 10.5V, things start to go all wrong. Varies a bit from make to make - but the battery is the right place to start.
SlowZ06
Battery light on = charging system failure. True story. That being said, there are a few scenarios. 1) Alternator is defective. 2) Wiring problem(s) 3) ECM is defective. Happens all the time; Chrysler products for quite a while have regulated alternator output with the ECM. None of this changes the fact that you may still need a new battery because it was discharged when the charging system quit functioning. Dave1647545494
if the alt and bat test good the computer will need replaced as the voltage regulator is inside of it on most chryslers...
