Rally Pat
I didnt really notice it on my car for the past month or so I have owned it, but the paint job is really bad. There is overspray on like everything, and it is almost like absolutely nothing but the windows was masked off.
Dr. Apex
Well, if you had the stock paint I would of said it was normal for an older toyota, they simply didn't have good paint. Sounds like a Maaco job, my turbo laser had been done by maaco and it had runs and overspray also.
Rally Pat
I dont think this is stock paint. I havent looked through the car's papers, but the color is a sort of Metallic midnight blue.
Kevin R.
Ya. Probably Maaco or generally any cheap paint job. If it is overspray and runs and such, you may be able to pay a professional detailer to wet sand and remove overspray. I have seen amazing things done with cheap paint jobs, nothing short of miracles by detailers. You would be paying for it but it would be cheaper than a new paint job. Rally Pat
My other concern is rust under the paint, so I think getting the paint job fixed is out of the question.
Kevin R.
True. Well then it just isn't worth it. I would love a new paint job, but nice ones are just so damn expensive.
2 Sweet
A previous owner of my Camaro had it repainted at least once, probably at Maaco, and it looks like shit. I'm hoping to get some fresh paint sometime in the next few months

2 Sweet
Yeah it was definitely Maaco or a similar shop that did cheap, half-assed work. When it gets repainted it will be quailty work. You get what you pay for, and it shows in a paint job
Rally Pat
I think that paint job (as in mine) might even be sub-Maaco quality. Pretty color, poorly done.

Give me a call...I'd love to look at it sometime and I'll give you my $.02 on what can or can't be done for it. If I can help I'd love to...if not nothing lost for either of us.
