Lustalbert Posted January 21, 2007 Report Share Posted January 21, 2007 You could put on an overdrive pulley on the alternator to return it to its normal speed. It would be alot cheaper, and most likely use less HP than trying to put a larger alternator on it with heavier windings. FWIW, alot of the high amp alternators on the market have a modified regulator that puts out more ampreage at normal driving RPM, but sacrifice low RPM output to achive this.
