Okay, I'm doing the axle swap today on my Thunderbird turbo coupe rear.

The axles are out of both the stock mustang 8.8 and stock 373 disc Turbo coupe rear end, I would like to clean out the internals of the Thunderbird rear end because it looks like molases mixed with coal in there.

What can I use thats SAFE to clean out the internals?

Thanks

Brake cleaner?

I use it to clean everything. lol

or solvent ;)

depending on the brake cleaner. most of them leave a film behind. soap and water , rinse and dry. after you get buzzed off the brake clean.

do what he would do and jump under there with a can in each hand and unload them.

If you're doing axle bearings and seals... put a bucket at each end and the center to catch crap. Just get a toilet brush and push it through with a pipe, it'll clean the axle tubes out real well with some Purple Power.
