I am converting it over from one of those extremely tall prefabs to a direct vent. I haven't bought the inside components yet. Does anyone have one of these and how do u like it? Also how many BTU's do u have? How powerful of a blower? I've done "some" research but I hate to be a "single" female at the contractor's mercy. He's telling me I "might" b able to convert my existing fireplace over to a direct vent but doesn't know yet until he gets inside the unit tomorrow. If I do need a whole new unit he's telling me it's gonna cost me $1600 just for the fireplace and that is without labor. Yikes. Anyone with any information??? It would be greatly appreciated.
