Guest Removed
your motor should have a B303 in it..otherwise stock cam for 302ho. the e303 is the next step up (if i remember right)
fattyona12
b303 is a decent cam, it is bigger than stock....if i remember right the e303 is more emissions friendly B303 Duration'': 224°/224° @ .050'' Lift: .480''/.480'' Trans: 5-Speed Notes: Fair Idle, Good Low-End Torque, Significant Top-End Power Above 4,000 RPM a stock cam is only .444/.444 E303 Duration: 220°/220° @ .050'' Lift: .498''/.498'' Trans: 5-Speed/Automatic, Emissions Legal (E.O.#D-225-16) with 5-Speed Notes: Good Idle, Excellent Low- and Mid Range Torque, Great for Superchargers. Guest Removed
408 stroker with AFR's and a big ass cam, ditch th FI and get a carb. you'll drop 120 pounds pounds off the car getting rid of the FI, wiring etc
Boost-n-Juice
I made 300rwhp on an E303 (plus heads/intake and custom tune from LaSota). I'd say the B is better if you have stock heads etc. If you plan on changing heads/intake later, go with the E. Whatever you do, do yourself a favor and get it tuned. fattyona12
I have an f303 in a 347 that runs 11.80's, the frpp cams do ok for what they cost. the b303 would pick up the car a bit....but if your gonna pull the intake and front cover for the cam...might as well look for some heads too. FYI 1.7 roller rockers will take your stock cam to around .480 lift with out nearly as much work.
Boost-n-Juice
^ good point.
hpfiend
I personally would not go to the hassle of changing a camshaft to put a used grind in- you can get a trickflow stage 1 (221/225 @ 0.50 .498/.510) for like 150.00 if I remember correctly which will make a nice lopey idle and the accompanying light surging and lack of power below 3000- above 3000 hang on. I would go with 1.7 rockers and a stock cam if I were you as a first step.
Dave1647545494
also watch goign over .500 lift on stock piston notches some people get away with it some don't
hpfiend
True that- I have trickflow heads so I can get away with the 2.02s and the higher lift.
mrtbolt64
Throw the B cam on ebay. I threw one in a mild engine and it just gave me bucking problems at idle to about 1700. I also lost the low end grunt the stocker had.
