Reed44
My friends clutch is letting out as soon as you let off the pedal. Is the clutch adjustable on this. If so, how do we do it. He just had a new clutch, aluminum flywheel and TOB installed.
MrMeanGreen
No, it's hydraulic. It's supposed to let off right off the floor, as opposed to what you'd feel in your Mustang. It's normal.
Reed44
ok. I just seems weird, even to him because it didnt let out that soon before and now it is grinding when your getting on it changing gears, sometimes it wont even let you shift. It also chatters bad but I think it because its a stage II.
AJ
stage II as in the junk stage II that i read bad things about on LS1Tech.com?
Reed44
its an off brand from texas as far as he can remeber.
MrMeanGreen
That explains part of the problems, always use a reputable clutch setup. Especially with our cars. Also, did they bleed the hydraulic system after the install? That needs done, and they should have upgraded to the LS6 hydraulics at the least. If not, he can get away with the hole mod in the slave cylinder line. That will also solve some of the grinding problems between fast gear changes. Reed44
whats the hole mod and ips did the clutch work so I am sure they did bleed it.
AJ
or just do what i did and went with an LS7 clutch. nothing better than paying twice for the same job.
caseyctsv
He might need an adjustable master cylinder or may need to shim it. Could have some air in the line - may self adjust if he drives it a while. Got to love hydraulics huh?
Reed44
he never drives it though. so, so far its either may need bleed again, re shimed, or needs a new master cyclinder?
caseyctsv
How many miles has he put on it since the install?
