Media reports from as far back as 2005, when the Wii's controller was first unveiled, often likened it to a light saber. That description will be more realistic than ever when Star Wars: The Force Unleashed comes out for the Wii in early 2008. The Force Unleashed for Wii will port of the same game that is slated for the PS2, PS3, PSP, Xbox 360, and Nintendo DS. It will, however, include an exclusive duel mode that allows two gamers to spar in light saber battles. The control scheme is also likely to be much different with the Wii than it will be on any of the other consoles. Lucas Arts teased the idea in July, saying of a Wii light saber game, "We’re all over that. There’ll be some stuff out this fall; it’s going to be a lot of fun." The publisher announced this week that The Force Unleashed would not be available on the Wii until spring of next year. So far it has not announced any titles for the console for 2007." morabu Posted September 19, 2007 Report Share Posted September 19, 2007 i'm happy about this! but, until we all find out that your sabre on screen does NOT follow your wiimote, it just uses 1 general monotonous slashing motion to make a slash and one blocking motion to block don't get too hyped up people J.R. BloodRed Posted September 19, 2007 Report Share Posted September 19, 2007 I can't remember the name of the game, but there is a game coming out soon for the Wii where the player uses a light saber look a like. It isn't a Star Wars game, but you can tell they ripped the light saber from Star Wars. They did a little preview of the game on G4 and they were saying that the light saber is fully fuctional like you would expect with use of the Wii remote.
