Twistedrx7
Jake, is that how one has to do the 99 spec conversion? Jackson Yeah it is actually pretty easy to do, if you dont screw them up lol. I was toying around with the idea of not even painting them. I thought about using my spare lenses to test some vinyl out on. I would just have the vinyl cut to the specs of the lenses and with the holes already cut to spec as well. Then just clean and put on, No drying time and perfect circles. I actually made a detailed layout of how they should go on. I know it is kind of hard to determine where to put the circles in the begining. I figured this would help eliminate the guess work.

Rotarded1647545491
Good work! I've done about a dozen sets here in town. In fact most of the FDs here have my work. I would suggest using textured paint as it hides imperfections and gives the look (flat, no gloss) of the real 99 spec plastic surface. If anyone else wants to do this themselves, I have the circle cutter, heat gun, the shelf paper, and the silicone that I will let you use. Twistedrx7
Yeah i have never seen the 99 spec ones before until last week when i already had them done. I realized it looks extrememly flat and not glossy at all. Oh well. i would suggest polishing them as well before you put them back into their clear lenses. Thank you everyone for your kind words. The girlfriends dad seems to think they are altezzas for some reason... :gay:
ObliqueFD
Looks good. I had mine converted a few years ago. I didn't realize it was that easy. What did you use to polish the lenses? Will any plastic polish work? Mine have hard water stains on them.

Smokey
question for Michael and Jake, The stock reflectors have the circle outlines on them already (very faint, but you can see it), are those close to how you ended up placing your circles? also, did you use additional adhesive to reseal the lights afterward or just use what was originally there? I have seen the circles on a few. Yes, they are great for using as a guide for placing the contact paper circles. I did use clear silicone during reassembly to guarantee no water leakage. One the two i had i did not see any faint circles at all. I determined my circles by what i thought looked best. I centered them on the light and the lens itself. The details are in the link i posted. I used extra silicone myself as well. Never a bad idea to make sure water doesnt leak in.
