Our client is a small, rapidly growing company with a product line that is a leading edge solution in a sector of the retail industry. The ideal candidate will be flexible and hard working, willing to pitch in and work with the team to get the work done. Given this is a relatively small organization, the individual must be able to "wear many hats", and adapt and respond to changes in the business and customer needs. Successful candidates will demonstrate the following characteristics: - Candidates must be local to Ohio and available to interview in person - Candidates must be able to start no later than March 14 - Can quickly learn new technology, get up to speed, and make changes and enhancements as required. - Open and willing to dive into technology new to them, and apply it. An example would be a person with Java and C background using Microsoft technology to solve a problem - Willingness to adapt to situations that arise and figure out what needs to be done The contract as it is right now is a short term 4 to 6 weeks to assist with an implementation. There are possibilities to extend or contract to hire for the right person. SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE - More than 3 years experience in distributed system development with strong back end (server, database) development experience. - Strong object oriented design and coding regardless of technologies/programming languages - Ability to succeed in very dynamic (changing priorities daily) environment - Experience with looking at code in one language and knowing how to move to another language - Strong knowledge in C#, J# and Java technologies - Prefer a strong back end developer but, would look at candidates with a blended skill set of front end and back end development - Mid level to strong experience with Windows XP, Linux - Experience with robotics and low level controller code is a big plus This is in Columbus, near downtown just off of 315. I assume not since March 14 was the date given, but I know someone who would be looking for summer/part time work as a student. He has a few years of very good experience.
